Fast, easy, fun, educational
I bought these for use in my biology class for invertebrates. They grew very big (about 1cm) in the first week and there was a fantastic amount of cannibalism (beware for younger kids) but the resulting animals are beautiful. They are a redish brown in color and they are very active. When you feed them they come up and grab the food right from you and start eating (it's really cute). They are a really cool and super-simple class pet. They only live a month or so, but that's perfect for a life cycle lesson. They are good for a kid to just have an easy pet to take care of too - so you can start your child with something like this and work them up to caring for something like a dog. This kit was very easy and the animals were extremely simple to care forThe seller was perfect

One is the loneliest number...
While hatching instructions were very specific, still, only one hatched from the entire batch. Poor return on investment. Disappointed I am.

Very good as a starter kit (experienced guys, just go for the eggs)
Get this kit if you're just starting out because it gives you EVERYTHING. Sure, the container that comes with it is super flimsy and cheap, and you'll probably want to switch to a microwave-style plastic container in the long-run, but this kit is important because it more or less makes it easy to get started: limestone (important to increase the water pH if you add dead leaves to your hatchery like I do), spirulina (algae for the baby triops), adult food, and sand/eggs all in one kit. If you're new at hatching these, you have to start somewhere, and I continue to use the limestone and spirulina with my other hatcheries.I more or less gave 5 stars across the board only because I heard good things about this company (they actually sell triops eggs, not fairy shrimp or Sea-Monkeys like other kits) and I appreciate them even selling such an oddball (in a good way) product in the first place. My entire family has enjoyed learning about triops. The fact it's educational is just the cherry on top.

Grew quickly
These grew quickly, but there are a lot of steps to take care of them. Also, requires frequent feedings and water cleaning/changes.

Only one hatched
The media could not be loaded. Only one hatched. Wish more had hatched. Have gotten these before locally and had a better success rate. At least the one we have is doing well and growing each day.

Educational
This was really fun to do with my kiddos and helps them understand the cycle of life and death. It says it comes with 65 eggs, which is definitely too hard to actually count and know. Out of all the eggs, only 6 hatched and survived to 12 days as of today. We followed all of the instructions exact, so they have a cruddy hatching rate even when following all instructions. It's still been fun to do and has taught different lessons. You do end up needing to transfer the Triops into a larger container when they get bigger, so don't count on them living in the tiny one they send their whole lives. It comes with all of the food and everything else, so I still think it was worth the money. When I changed their enclosure, I had thought that a bunch had died but then after watching one, I figured out that they molt, she'd their skin. They're cool creatures!
