I am very pleased with the unit (mine was a refurb but looked new in all respects). One thing to consider is that the crucibles are a consumable item. The crucible begins to break down leaving this black powder on anything they come in contact after the second or third use I knida knew this going in from all the research I did beforehand.The plier-type tongs (the look like extended needle nose) are far an above the kitchen style I see most units having. Mine has a perforated grill separating the electronics and heating area, I mention this because all the other units have nothing and the area is open to who knows what. My only beef (and its minor) is that after about the 5th use is the top door is no longer aligned, No doubt some warping from the heat. Again its minor and does not affect the closing and locking of the lid. As you can see in the pic mine came with gloves, crucible, very nice tongs and an extra refractory plate and thermistor. I have no issues waiting 30 min for it to get to 2200 F. I just kick back and have a cold one.
