Rachel Pollack was quite successful in integrating the two symbolic systems and to help us appreciate both of them better. And without a tiresome dogma, which books of this type may lapse into. Pollack is careful describe each of the 22 sephiroth and to give history of how people in the past have used them. Hermann Haindl's painting is complex, but fetching,and worthy of study, as you try to trace its imagery to the text of the book. There are ten pulses or emanations of divine energy and 22 connections between them. Hence kind of tarot (major arcana) association, beyond the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
