For $100 renewed it does the job well
The reason I bought this router was to test the dumaOS geo fencing capabilities for games. I tested this mainly with cod, because those games are notorious for using the absolute worst engagement optimized matchmaking algorithm in the industry. Basically ping is not prioritized if you're an exceptional player, quite the opposite actually. The game decides to bounce you around the country to find the highest skill rating match depending on your previous matches performance, then sacrifice ping to put you there. I've seen my own games go from 5 ping to 60+ ping. That kind of disparity is absolutely unacceptable when I am near a data center with a large pool of players. Anyway I tested the dumaOS geo filter and limited the game from finding games over 5 ping. To my surprise it does actually work but the only downside is that the queue times might be a bit longer due to the matchmaker trying to find equally skilled opponents. Don't get me wrong this will not put you in bot lobbies, but the connection quality is fixed and the gameplay experience is noticeably improved.

Disappointing!
I bought this after reading and watching loads of reviews that went on and on about how great this router is, but my experience with it was completely different. In my experience: The device has a plethora of issues that neither a couple of networking experts nor the Netduma technical support staff were able to resolve. The only thing it’s good for is working as a basic network switch for 10x the price of a regular one!- It randomly and frequently lost connection to the Internet and wouldn’t reconnect until you reboot it.- It gets suspiciously hot whenever the Wi-Fi is on & cools down after you disable the Wi-Fi. Sure, this can be mitigated by having it raised for proper airflow, or by using one of those cheap laptop cooling stands. But why should one go through any of this in the first place?- Can’t forget to mention the awful Wi-Fi coverage, granted it’s not wifi6 but still a bad coverage.- The Ethernet ports were loose; the cables wobble around and often lose connection.- If you plan to plug/connect a smart TV to it in hopes of watching some YouTube videos, the AdBlock feature will make it near impossible to do so. It’ll take ages to play any video unless you disable the feature for that device, then it works just fine. Might as well watch/skip the 5 second ad at that point.- Finally, the unit I received had a different MAC address on it than its actual one. This took me a while to realize whilst trying to setup a static IP.I worked with the Netduma technical support staff and consulted a couple of the networking specialists at the company where I work in hopes of fixing its connectivity issues and properly configuring all the settings but to no avail. So, I gave up!PLEASE NOTE that this has been my experience and not generally the case according to most reviews. It’s possible that the unit I got is defective but it’s disappointing nonetheless. Unfortunately, I’ll be returning this asap and maybe I’ll give it another try at some point in the future, perhaps when a new model comes out. The features of DumaOS were phenomenal when they actually worked, and they gave me a taste that I’ll surely miss.

You need a p.c to unlock the full potential
Good router love the control you have over what it’s meant to doDuma os app needs a lot of work you can’t do a whole lot on itYou need a p.c to fully use it or log onto the router itself with a mobile device or tablet but it still doesn’t work that wellI have a hard time even logging back in to the app after you don’t use it for a whileIf you play older multiplayer games like I do it might be useless because you cant find the servers for older games on the geo filter or one of the filters (I could be wrong)But I’m going to keep it and eventually get a laptop or p.c to unlock its full potentialI say buy it if you have the money and try it out if you are serious about multiplayer gaming it is definitely better than the equipment your ISP provides
