Nocturne

I discovered this record by accident, and absolutely love it. I was a young adult in the 80's and loved a lot of the music from that era, and this record has some of the same vibes from bands in that era. There's some Joy Division, Psychedelic Furs, New Order and some Smiths mixed in here, among others. Nocturne is an excellent album, and does something most 'new-ish' music doesn't do...it makes me feel nostalgic for the things I listened to when I was younger. There are practically no 'throw away' tracks, and has a very mellow, almost 'shoegazey' and dreamy, 80's quality to it. This is great music, and very highly recommended!

Nocturne comes with some amazing colorful prints, with quotes on top of the strongest lyrics from each of the songs on the albumI could listen to this record on repeat for days, at times nostalgic and melancholic,this artist produces a sound so hauntingly beautiful that you can get completely lost in it.Another great feature is that the album includes a card from capturedtracks.com which allows you to download the entire album into mp3 format for iTunes or wherever you want to put it. This is my favorite artist, and I'm so happy i made this purchase.

Quite possibly my favorite album by Wild Nothing. If you are looking for that nostalgic, dreamy, chillwave type sound you have found the right album. I fell in love after hearing their song Paradise. Not a bad song on this album. I love how it comes with different artwork with lyrics on each piece. You can also change the look of the front cover by switching out the blue sheet that you see as the cover.

This album really surprised me. It's probably the best produced album of the year, with it's punchy bass and it's crisp treble. All in all, it's a welcome improvement over "Gemini". The tunes are mostly all strong, and all of the singles, especially, are amazing. "Paradise" is certainly one of 2012's best songs. It's a throwback for sure, but it still sounds modern and it's still distinctive, despite being what many consider to be just 'another chill-wave album'. Make no mistake, he great songwriting set this one apart. Highly recommended.

Wild Nothing is one of my top 3 favorite contemporary bands and Nocturne is one of the best albums I have listened to in the last 5 years. I'm a big The Cure fan (actually the band I keep closest to my heart) and Nocturne gave me almost the same buzz I had when I listened to Disintegration, back in 1989. A fantastic mix of introspection, spacey guitars and catchy melodies.

Refreshing to see that new music production can still be of quality and taste...very good, especially "Shadows" and "Nocturne"
