1991 album by veteran prog act on their own CamelProductions label. Contains 16 tracks, including 'Dust Bowl'and 'Go West'. Review: Pleased to get a newer Camel album - I like the fact that I can order 3 things that seem to be from the same place and have them all come to me separately. Review: Give it a few listens... another Camel classic. - CD was exactly as portrayed. Thanks!

john steinbeck-inspired prog rock.
based on inspiration from the novel "grapes of wrath," by john steinbeck, this is an outstanding work of prog-rock. lots of space surronds the majesty of camels sound here, and andrew latimer's guitar work is wonderful as always. pink floyd fans should love this stuff. great music by an extremely talented outfit of musicians.

This import version is a memorable crescendo of feelings!!
This masterwork by Camel, whose original import version I own ,is characterized by a very brilliant sound !! The loud mix of the drums and the high mixing of the keyboards/orchestration, unlike the opinion of one reviewer, are a great idea to me, because this album sounds completely diverse in comparison to their previous works!! This album, starting as a bit tepid pop rock, afterwards grows more and more, expecially in the instrumental parts, touching your heart deeply !! ("Cotton Camps", "Broken banks" until the monumental tracks "Hopeless anger" and "Whispers in the rain" make their triumphant entering, are only a few examples). This is an exceptional concept album- based upon the story of "The grapes of wrath" by Steimback- concerning the feelings and drama which stroke the californian families , in the period following the Wall street crash and the big crisis, which affected the life of these poor people!! The guitar of Andy LATIMER is fantastic here!! There are a lot of colors, growing in dynamics and sometimes giving the imprinting of a certain virtuosity (without bombastic and excessive solos anyway!!)...finally a masterpiece, since the issue of "Mirage" and "Snow goose", which is suitable for all the lovers of romantic light symphonic music (moreover another excellent issue, dated 1997,"Harbour of tears", takes a lot of inspiration from "Dust and dreams") Highly recommended!!

Camel - "Dust & Dreams"
This CD, released in 1991, is among the best of the band. However, the Camel is the Camel and didn't do bad things to the point of having to dismiss. It's worth knowing for those who like the band. The tracks "Go West", "Rose Of Sharon" and "Hopeless Anger" are the best on the disc.

A welcome return to their symphonic roots
Camel achieved with Dust and dreams a music full of emotions. After having released disappointing records in the eighties, Andrew Latimer decided to write a concept-album based on Steinbeck's novel 'The grapes of wrath'. Thanks to fabulous keyboards, superb guitar parts and good vocals, this album ranks among the best progressive and melodic records ever released. The most outstanding songs on this record are the instrumentals, as they reflect Camel's members huge talent and their ability to create poignant moods. The harmonica added on some songs gives us a taste of the 'The Great Depression' era. With its poignant passages, DaD remains Camel's gem, along with their classics such as Snowgoose. For every music lover, this is highly to recommend
