Cannot have any debris in water
I replaced a 2200 gph pump in my water feature with this Little Giant as I needed less flow. Everything fired up and ran great initially, but then the pump slowed down drastically. I reached my hand in and found little bits of leaves and debris clogging the intake. This did not happen with the last pump as it was able to process the small debris just fine. The old one also came with a wire mesh bag to screen out larger debris. I tried using it on this pump, but it doesn't help. I would not recommend this for outdoor use unless you have a filtration system to catch small debris before it gets to the intake. If the water is perfectly clean, it works well.

Have had at least 4 of these over 3 decades Works great for pool covers
Gets the water down to a really low level. If allowed to run empty they will burn out

DOES NOT LAST MORE THAN A FEW MONTHS
My original pump lasted over 20 years. When it quit I purchased a Little Giant pump and installed it in May 2022. It lasted less than 4 months. I (probably foolish) tried a second Little Giant pump (exactly the same model as the first one.) It also lasted less than 4 months. They both failed in the same manner. First, they started to hum after about 2 months. They they started to trip my 20 amp GFI. I tried a different GFI circuit with the same result. I even tried a non-GFI circuit. This tripped the breaker in the main panel. Since the pump would restart each time after I reset the electrical. It would run for a few minutes and then trip the electrical. I am assuming that it was overheating and drawing too much current even though it is fully submerged at the bottom of a 55 gallon drum.BOTTOM LINE - THE PUMP IS TOTALLY WORTHLESS!!

Sent me a pump that had been previously used. Thanks a lot...
The pump had a water stain line on it from a previous user. It was not new. I am using it with a watchful eye, almost expecting something to be wrong with it. So far no problem. Grrr.

Great little durable pump.
I purchased one of these little pumps 30+ years ago and it's still in working order. We left it with the first pool and house we sold in Maryland. I purchased a 2nd one for our new pool. It's the best little pump on the market.

Have to find a different pump
Did not have enough pressure to feed 24 emitters, the older black models could do this with less GPh . Kinda worthless for hydroponic feeding.
