Bought one for a few traditional weddings this summer. Amazingly good quality material and make!

As a pastor of more than 30 years I had reached the point where I needed a new black pulpit robe. As I doubt seriously I have another 30 years to preach, I wasn't interested in spending a great deal of money. After reading a few reviews, I decided to take the chance on this robe.It's a good thing I could return it.This is an example of "you get what you pay for." I tried it on and in looking into the mirror to see how it fit one of the first things that jumped out at me was what appears to be fishing line used on the shoulders. Now from 10 feet away, that's not visible, but as I greet people before and after the service, it would be. It just looked cheap.I have no interest in shelling out another $400-500 for a robe that, God willing, I will use another 10 or so years, but I need a little more out of a robe than what this provides.Perhaps the fit would be better for some. Maybe I got a "bad" one - there are always outliers, but I returned it and am glad I could.

My husband has been a retired pastor for many years now and only needs to wear a clerical robe on rare occasions. His original robe is worn, so he wanted another, inexpensive option. This is not nearly as good as his original professional one, but just fine for occasional use. It is actually better quality than we had expected, and not at all like "choir" or "graduation" robes like so many others are in this price range.

Definitely a great value. Doesn't look "cheap" and is surprisingly lightweight.I'm a 5'8 woman so the length is good. It's a little "big" across the shoulder area (is probably more appropriate for a male build and I'm ample in the chest area), but for what I paid, I won't complain (I may just not be accustomed to how they are supposed to fit).I may have it altered a little bit to look less bulky.Definitely a great first robe.
