When I noticed dust on the lens, I just blew it off. I only had to cleanse the lens a couple times (e.g. from waterfall spray). I use this on Sony RX10 MKIII. I highly recommend this UV filter. I tested the Circular Polarizing Filter, and I was a little hesitant to tighten it because of the review/complaints about not being able to remove it; it is very skinny and I could see how it would be difficult to grip- so, I only had one opportunity at a slow moving creek to test the polarizing effect, I didn't see the benefit but I don't believe I gave it a fair test.
