Otis Ripcord One Pass Bore Cleaner (Select your caliber)

Black powder rifles are dirty. You should clean the barrel between every shot. I’m amazed at how well this bore snake worked at the range. One or two passes through the barrel between shots made it easy to reload and made it possible to make more shots per range cycle. It’s the best product I ever used for barrel preparation between shots at the range: get it!!!

picked up a set for every firearm i own. these things just work and work well. you can even screw an extra bore brush on the end if you need it. this is a well thought out product. and it cleans well!

Very flexible, fits into my compact 9mm without removing the barrel. Its definitely a little tough to pull thru the barrel but im sure thats why it gets it so clean. You can wrap the metal ends with electrical tape so it doesn’t scratch anything, or add an attachable brush that can screw into the metal end pieces.

I’ve never used this particular bore cleaner. I believe the other brand, boresnake; is easier to use but I will get use to this one and take it with me for my range visits for use between firing strings. It’s well made and has a nice kit box to store it in.

This is easier to use than a bore snake on my 12 gauge shotguns. No lube or cleaner is used. The Ripcord material does all the work. I just brush off the soiled areas with a small soft brush after finishing cleaning. Seems to be holding up well. The material weave gets a little displaced at times but is easily massaged back into a normal position for the next pass. Barrel is usually clean after one pass. I have checked it by passing a few patches with cleaner after using the ripcord and they are much cleaner than with the bore snake. I’ve stopped chasing the Ripcord with patches. I still do a tear down and deep clean before putting the guns up but break action shotguns and bolt action rifles don’t get very dirty under normal use.

I originally purchased this bore snake to make the cleanings between full break downs last longer and found it does a very good job cleaning the breach and bore. It does the job very good and isn't hard to pull through the barrel at all. It's very handy that you are able to screw on bore brushes or mops to the end of the rip cord to allow for greater cleaning of build up. Had no problem attaching them to the ripcord and pulling through the bore for added build up removal, cleaning, lubrication and protection of the bore.Negative- I found the handle that attaches to the rip cord non functional, as the cord would pop right off once I applied any tension pulling through the barrel. Also trying to put the ripcord back inside the plastic case is annoying but possible. Wouldn't count it as a negative against the product tho.Overall it makes cleaning the bore much quicker than completely disassembling the shotgun which it is ment to do. It also does a damn good job cleaning/clearing build up inside and with the ability to attach brushes and mops. Will be using this over my cleaning kit with solid push rods from now on.

Use one for cleaning out muzzleloader; second one coated on the 3 nubs with brimshiner for the second pass to protect/season barrel for easy loading.

Works like a charm, easy to feed, holds great tension and cleans the barrel beautifully.

I switched over to these from the traditional drop through/pull bore cleaning snakes. Why? These can be threaded through the barrel much faster, and without having to orient the rifle pointing down. This means I can quickly run this through my rifle between shots without even having to take it off the bench.The design also cleans much more effectively than your traditional bore snake tool.

Quite impressed with this bore cleaner since it cleans a hot barrel without the use of chemicals. Decent price and appears very well made. Anxious to try it!
