Bismarck Solitaire

Excellent product for the solo gamer
First up , this is not a hard core gaming simulation, so if that is the experience you are looking for, you need to go elsewhere. This is what be best described as a light war game based on the Bismarck sortie. Is this bad thing, no.This is a very playable solo game, offering a good range of tactical decisions that plays out in less than 30 minutes. The scenarios (7 in all) get more difficult as you progress and the later ones can be a challenge, just what you want from an AI botThe book itself is perfect bound which is of good quality, but also my minor gripes. I wish it was spiral bound so it lays flat on the table and the rules were presented in portrait rather than landscape format.Recommend scanning and copying the scenarios rather than writing in the book itself- I laminated my copies and use a dry erase marker.Great product, highly recommended

A game that you can take anywhere.
I was very pleasantly surprised by Bismarck Solitaire. It's a book style game that has a number of scenarios you can play through. You only need a couple of dice and a pencil to play the game. If this makes the game sound rather simplistic them you will find that actually a lot of tactical thinking is required, with each scenarios victory conditions becoming progressively more difficult. This game can be taken quite literally anywhere and if you photocopy the first map and put it in a clear plastic pocket, you can use a wipe off marker pen to draw on it, meaning you can play the game an infinite number of times without having to draw on the maps in the book itself.Highly recommended.

Eight Missions in a glossy book.
Worthington's high standards are maintained with this "Bookgame". On-line video shows ball point pen being used. Use a pencil to enable multiple use of grid maps. Scotland is mis-shaped but that does not effect the playability or the fun. Can you find the convoy, evade the RN and return to Bergen or shelter in Brest? Four pages of rules, an example of play and a few historical details included.

An interesting game of Hunt the Bismarck.
This solitaire game can be played by more people if required and if battle commences it is possible to ignore the games solutions and fight the actions with model ships etc as naval wargames. As a solitaire game there are different scenarios which allow the player to gradually master more complex objectives. Great fun and the maps could be scanned so that you don't run out of more popular scenarios, though permission for this is not included. (The tracks of the ships are placed on the map for each scenario, so once played that scenario's map is lost)

Not very interesting
This is a very dull game with very little decision making.
