I personally love this book to refer to for ideas. But if you're one who needs exact measurements to create a card then look elsewhere. This book gives a comprehensive list of who manufactures all the elements for each card, (as most card-making books do); that's fine if you want the EXACT look of the card...I have never used this list, not wanting to go out & purchase something when so many substitutions I already have will do just fine. This book does give many useful tips on time & money saving as well as how to tweak the appearance of your card or give it a different look from what is pictured. Another nice feature is the section in the back containing the various patterns used throughout the book; that way you can use the sketch outlines for your own creations without getting sidetracked by the fully designed card. It's over 220 pgs--which I believe was a very good deal for the price I paid.

I really like this book. It is organized in a very logical manner,has many templates for the reader and hundreds of fine ideas for cards. The author provides a design set up and four or five different examples of cards that can be made from the design. If you have any trouble coming up with ideas for cards,this book is for you. If you dont have problems thinking up ideas for designs, this book will still be of use to you as it shows multiple cards from one design. Very well worth the investment. Kudos to the author. Ive purchased several books of this type and this is the best one. Not too complex for a beginner,not to simplistic for a seasoned crafter.

This was given as a gift to my mother-in-law who has been making beautiful cards for many years. She said it was a very nice book and she is getting some new and interesting ideas!

This is an Amazing book full of card ideas. If you are like me, sometimes my mind goes blank but this book gives all kinds of ideas. This is the book I have been looking for a long time

Ordered this book for a friend that is locked up and has limited supplies. He loves this book and stated it gave him great ideas and creativity. Customer service was great (as usual with Amazon.com), it arrived on time, great condition. Only problem; all companies dont put invoices in thier shipments. He cannot receive any books without the invoices. Why would a company ship ANYTHING without an invoice? However they do! My only complaint!

Love this book! I am a novice at cardmaking. This book shows simple but attractive recipes for greeting cards. The organization of the book is very helpful, organizing styles by chapters. At the end is an index showing configurations of the styles and where to find them in the book. The book ends with a resource guide listing products used in the samples and how to find them. I don't have many cardmaking resources but this book is definitely the best!

I had just bought this same book for $27 at Barnes and nobles so it was a surprise to see it here for 10$! I bought it from here for my friend since we are both into scrapbooking and card making. The book has wonderful pictures, excellent ideas and small descriptions and instructions. I thought the book was worth it at $27 so it is a huge bargain at 10!! I definitely recommend it!

I have only looked through the book but haven’t actually opened it to we what all it has. I am a very new person that is wanting to make homemade cards. I believe this book will be a great start!

Dieses Buch geht einen anderen Weg als viele andere - es geht nicht von unterschiedlichen Anlässen aus für die Kartengestaltung, sondern es zeigt grafisch unterschiedlichste Layouts auf und gibt dann Beispiele, wie dieses Layout umgesetzt werden kann. So kann man sich Anregungen holen und sie mit eigenen Materialien umsetzen. Dieser Ansatz gefällt mir sehr gut, denn er macht bewusst, dass Gestaltung nicht zufällig oder aus einem kreativen Moment heraus entstehen muss, sondern dass es bestimmte Gesetzmäßigkeiten gibt, die zu einem gelungenen Ergebnis führen.Die Karten sind nicht überladen, sondern meist in sehr schönen, aufeinander abgestimmten Mustern und Farbtönen gestaltet.

Great book! Tones of ideas and how-to for card-making! I love the way they present different cards made following the same sketch. Very interesting for beginners, and even for others!

I am constantly dipping into this book for ideas and inspiration. As a card maker, sometimes it was puzzling to find that the finished article, which I started making with such enthusiasm and what promised to be real creativity, ended up curiously disappointing and 'unbalanced', for the want of a better word. Like most crafters I have a large stash of all kinds of materials, most of which are used in this book, but in creative and pleasing ways that are very satisfying to reproduce with what you already have. The author gives a selection of 'layouts' which immediately addresses the problem of 'balance' - sorry I can't immediately think of a better description - and produces cards that give a real sense of satisfaction. There is endless scope for your own interpretations and substitutions.I notice that many craft magazines are using this format, often employing the use of die cuts such as the 'Spellbinders'.Crafting is an addiction and we crafters are constantly templted by new products which we don't use completely, thus ending up with masses of stuff that has to be stored. We are pretty much sitting ducks and easy marks and when you look, really look, at the machines and materials that we buy it is obvious to me that these little machines - that are basically mass produced mangles with pretty designs - must have an enormous mark-ups. Ditto the dies which have a minute amount of metal and are quite uncomplicated from an engineering point of view, once set up they can probably be reproduced for pennies. With the help of this book I am going to attempt to declare a moritorium on buying and have a go at using my massive stash. I already have a big selection of Spellbinders and other dies and a couple of die cutting machines, not to mention crafting materials that should see me into my shroud! Wonder how long my 'cold turkey' will last without me breaking into both a sweat and the plastic? maggs

Dieses Buch ist ein Gewinn!Voller ansprechender Ideen, für jede Kartenart ist der Sketch dabei.Sich hier keine Grußkarte zum Nachmachen zu finden istfast unmöglich..........und man muss nicht unbedingt Englisch können, die Bildersprechen für sich.Dieses schön gebundene Buch lädt auch einfach zum Betrachtenein, zum Schwelgen in neuen Projekten.Und es lässt Raum für eigene Ideen.

I have so many books on card making but this is my FAVOURITE. It has nice card ideas, a list of supplies, and lovely pictures. I am a newbie to card making and some of the ideas I would never have thought of. I love this book, and I am so glad I bought it. Thanks.
