**Q: will it handle ball end strings as well as loop end?**
A: I haven't tried it, but I doubt ball-end will work. You can use side cutters to remove the ball end, which leaves a loop to affix to the pegs.

**Q: does this tailpiece come with a cover?**
A: No that’s the way it comes just like you see it. It’s a beautiful tail piece and looks great and adds sustain. I’ve had mine on my mandolin for at least a couple years now maybe more. I like it!

**Q: i need a replacement tailpiece for a Michael Kelly firefly mandolin. could you send me mounting hole spacing for your tailpieces? i don't want to redr**
A: From where the tailpiece contacts the soundboard the center mounting hole is 3.5 cm down, the two top holes are 1.5 cm down from the sound board and 2 cm  apart. This is a pretty tailpiece but be aware it is cast at a steep angle, which I had to bend to get the correct angle to the bridge. I did break one trying to get the angle adjusted.
