I brought in a credenza from my contaminated apartment to my new apartment. Ended up having to get rid of the credenza but it contaminated the floor and wall where I had it. I cleaned and washed and sprayed a ton, but I was still reactive to it. Looked into paints, primers, sealants. I am now also very sensitive to VOCs. This product was great. It looks like very watered down white glue, low odor. I used a wide paint brush. It was easy to put on multiple coats. Dried fairly quickly. Seems to have done the trick in dealin sealing in the spores and mycotoxins from the cross contamination. I no longer react to the wall. Time will tell. Review: This really works to block out the new furniture smell. The smell is probably toxin from whatever finish was used by the manufacturer. Safecoat Hard Seal will keep the toxin from out-gassing. Just be sure to thoroughly cover all surfaces - I would do 2 coats to be safe. **Q: We plan to tile around our new woodstove. Is Safecoat Hard Seal a sealer for tile? Will it allow offgas of chemicals when the stove heats up?** A: Safecoat hardseal is not the product for tile. If its a glazed, fired tile most impurities are burned off. Choose a tile that is hard fired and the glazes aren't toxic. Natural stones cn be good choices. Grout is going to be the thing that you'll need to be most concerned about. Choose least toxic grouts, sel with AFM's grout sealer. I also seal the cement backer board with the same product. **Q: Can I use this to seal my painted laminate kitchen countertops? Is it heat resistant, scratch resistant, and doesn’t dissolve in alcohol?** A: No, we don’t sell anything to seal laminate that is food grade, sorry **Q: we used copper green in crawl space under house, smells horrifc, has any used this hard seal to cover copper green odors.....?** A: Safecoat will cover any type of odor/fume. I would just make sure the copper green is completely dry/cured before applying anything else. If you are concerned, do a small test area or you can call the company but I haven't come across an odor yet this couldn't handle.....always let 'cure' between coats. If you have a large area to cover, wait a day or two before applying a 2nd coat, if any odor is present from the safe coat, give it a week to cure fully, add a 3rd coat if necessary. I am very sensitive to low odors, most people do not smell what I do. After the 2nd or 3rd coats, if it's in an enclosed environment it could take 2 weeks for the safecoat odor to be gone completely.
