They sport a Lamy Safari-like triangular grip, which I like. However, this type of grip isn't for everyone. This pen takes a #6 nib, so it can be easily replaced with any #6 nib, like those sold by the Goulet Pen Co. or elsewhere. The nib produces a very a wet-writing broad line. Plus, if this pen is posted it becomes unbalanced and back heavy, making it difficult to write for longer than a few sentences. I often clean the inside of the cap with a Q-tip, solving the problem of ink spraying into the cap. Due to this issue, my x450s are often used only at home rather than out and about, as I don't often carry Q-tips with me. All in all, I really like my x450s. They are well-made and very sturdy pens. Unposted, I can write all day with these pens. They are comfy to hold and perform well. In general, I find that Jinhaos are high value pens. I find them worth more than I what I spend for them. Whether it's a Jinhao x450, 250, x750, 601, or any of the many, many other models JInhao produces, I have never once regretted buying them. They are solid workhorse pens and look great, too. I cannot recommend Jinhaos highly enough! Review: Nice pen, put down a lot of ink - I used to use a fountain pen decades ago in high school. Just got back into them, and discovered the Jin Hao line. Got this one after getting an orange x159 (because the color matches my first vehicle (LOL). One thing I noticed with both is that they are pretty wet pens...they put down a lot of ink. As a leftie, this can create some smearing issues if I'm not careful, but more importantly is the amount of ink readily bleeds through the paper of standard notebooks and journals. I replaced the nib on the x450 with a fine nib from Goulet, and it writes a lot nicer. The weight of that pen compared to the Lamy Safari and Pilot Metropolitan makes it nice to write with. The 159, is a big pen, but nice to write with. The x450 posts OK...MUCH better than the x159 (which doesn't post well at all...the slightest nudge or bump causes the cap to come off the body. I've stopped even trying to post the cap anymore). You can't beat the value, esp if you like a wet pen with an indeterminate nib size (medium?? because it doesn't say).
