This little cube is sturdy and light. I like it's maneuverability because sometimes I want to put my feet up and sometime I don't. So I can easily move it out of the way without breaking my back. It looks like leather, smells like leather, and tastes like leather so I assume (guess what) it's really leather. Ok... I didn't really taste it. The feet are rubber and hold it nicely in place on the carpet. So if I decide to rest the bottom of my feet on the edge, it doesn't scoot away from me. The top has an adequate amount of cushion so your legs are comfortable when resting on it. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend it. Note: As a follow-up (March 2021). I have been sitting on this and one of the underlying wood support pieces on top broke. I am not reducing my rating because, the price is good for the quality but, this is clearly not a seat unless for a child. I weigh about 160 pounds. I received no incentive whatsoever for this review.

This is the second one purchased in the last several weeks. I purchased two more back in 2018. Love the versatility and the price. Looks better than shown in pics. Nice low price for the look, sturdiness and a little extra seating when needed. Quality product! 🙂

Perhaps a piece of furniture like this ottoman exemplifies one of those household accents that one really ought to see and size-up in person, in a store, before buying, but given the return policy at Amazon, this is hardly a catastrophic risk to take if you like the look of the thing and think it might suit your needs. Here are a few observations, however:1. The ottoman is true to its measurements, but upon arrival it does "appear" smaller and more compact than you probably first imagined it in your home setting, so take some time to apply the given measurements of this ottoman in whatever spot you have selected to place it *ahead of time* in order to avoid disappointment. Eyeball your potential placement thoughtfully.2. The ottoman is post-modern in style, very box-like and unassuming in appearance. Put it in the wrong spot at home, against the wrong wall, next to the wrong chair, in the wrong light, and it's going to look sort of like a gigantic candy-square from a box of chocolates. Or it will look possibly like a small trunk or chest of drawers. Take some time to consider how this piece will "show" best amid *your* decor. In a dark, shadowy room, it's going to get lost and look pointless or lumpen. This ottoman will look really sharp, however, when paired with other modern, contemporary furniture styles/chairs in a room that has hardwood floors. This ottoman is great for a space or room in your home that has a sleek, minimalist decoration theme. Great for a guy's den or household bar area or classically-appointed home office. That's the context I was hoping it would fit into (my den) and it really does fit -- in front of a sleek, white, art-deco-ish low-backed library chair on a hardwood floor in a room with clean lines and minimalist furnishings. I even set a small coffee-table-type book on it and it looks great. As an ottoman, if I sit down to read something in this particular chair, it certainly holds my feet up quite comfortably. The leather does not at all look vinylesque, to me. It is quality material -- it's just a stark, very modern little piece of furniture on the compact, "efficient-looking" side.I could, however, see that this piece would not work at all in most of the other rooms of my house, so try your best to have a specific vision in mind for this modern-styled ottoman. If you're looking for something plush and obvious for a very homey, comfort-oriented room, this is not for you. It functions well, but due to its style it is primarily a great modern and masculine accent piece, an ornamental piece. Other than all that, if it really fits your decor, it's a nice piece for the money.

I bought this for the express purpose of using it to sit on and tie my shoe laces for no man must ever be compelled to tie his shoe laces by kneeling down or hopping uncomfortably on one leg. I am happy to say that this purpose has been more than adequately served by this ottoman. I initially considered getting a wooden foot stool but this ottoman is a very inexpensive alternative. The make and quality is great. It is surprisingly light so it's quite easy to move around if necessary. It's comfortable to sit on. Its small form factor allows me to put it between two closet doors in a narrow corridor, flush against the wall. I have used it for 6 months now and I am quite satisfied with it.

I bought 3 of these ottomans to provide some extra seating in my living room. They arrived extremely fast, and I just opened the boxes tonight. What a pleasant surprise! These ottomans are exactly as described - the deep brown vinyl has a lustrous finish that makes it look extremely leather-like. The detailed topstitching is a really nice touch and also makes the ottomans look like they cost much more. One other nice feature is the fact that the bottom side of the ottoman is fabric-covered. Cheaper versions I saw in stores like Target were actually "hollow" underneath if you turned the ottoman over. Finally, the padding on the top of the ottoman is cushy enough that it makes a really comfortable seat. I expected it to be much skimpier, more like a footstool. I would definitely recommend this item!

This foot stool is not leather as described and it came with a warning that the material could cause cancer. I think it is misrepresented in its description.

Smaller than usual so nice for small spaces and light enough to move around.

A surprisingly lightweight ottoman. The leather is good quality: soft, supple, with an even color/texture.The ottoman is smallish, and not very structured. The sides are stretched leather (not solid sides with leather over that), and the top feels like it's just an outer frame holding padding in place-- it's very comfortable to sit on but doesn't seem to have anything solid in the middle. All of that makes for a lightweight, inexpensive piece, but I wonder how well it will hold up with use, or if the top will stretch/distend. Mind you, it's not flimsy-- I'm a 5'11" male approaching 200lbs, and don't feel like I'm going to fall through the top. But I'd be more comfortable using it as seating for only smaller people, or just as a footstool.Pictured with an average-sized house cat.A very nice looking piece.
