No it does not. We've bought 5 monchichi's so far and it's the only one that the pacifier does not come out.

has anyone given this to a child under 2?

I would definitely not recommend this for a child under 3 or4 because of the small parts such as the baby's pacifier. It is suitable for a girl aged 5 to 10. Too delicate for a toddler to play with.

Are the Monchhichi mother's clothes removable? Would you recommend for a 2 year old?

I think the clothes come off. But I would not recommend this for a 2 yr old. Maybe a 5 yr old. Purchased this for my daughter who is 36 and wanted one for Christmas.
