Not easy and a bit delicate, but final results are great
Hey, here is a trick I did not realize. I saw some other options with multi colored lights on the bushes.. but this one had just yellow. Now I realize that the color is just the clear lego pieces already in the bushes. So, just replace some of them with other colored clear lego pieces if you want multi colored bushes :)There is a real learning curve to installing these. .. and the instructions are a little confusing, but I managed to work my way through it. I will caution that my wife and daughter, who built the house originally, gave up and told me I had to do it... for what that is worth.

Some legos wouldn’t fit but customer service was goid
UPDATE: So, customer service was responsive but correspondence took a while bc I’m assuming they’re in China. They said they’d have to remake the piece I needed at the factory and I knew it wouldn’t make it to me in time for Christmas so I asked for a partial refund. They asked me how much which was def a first. I looked at the prices of their competitors kits for the same set and they were mostly $30 cheaper so I said $30 which they gave me. The lights that don’t have the Lego pieces in them are the string lights in the front yard, so I just painted the LED’s and it doesn’t look terrible. For the price of these lights ($70), you’d think they would actually use real legos! I got the Home Alone Lightailing light kit. Everything was going fine until I got to the string lights which go in front of the house. The pieces won’t fit and customer service was just like “push harder”. I’m a grown man, I think I could get two legos to fit together. They’re not deep enough to fit the Lego. Customer service would send me a response about once a day (I’m guessing they’re in China) but they’re not helpful at all. You’d think they would know if their product was defective, I hope I get at least some of my money back.

It's complicated
It's overly complicated and there instructions are hard to read and glosses over steps. The labeling on the product is frustrating, especially for the complicated strands of wires. Even if you follow the instructions, by hiding wires as instructed, you still have wires around. If this took a simpler approach, it might be worthwhile, sadly it's not fun or exciting to install.---I updated my review. Once you have the pieces inside the house, it's easier, but still the instructions are awful. I would only get this if you hadn't build the house yet. Also notte. the lights on the front of the house will likely not fit the clear Lego pieces inside.

Some lights did not leave enough room to fit onto Lego piece.
The ones that we were able to fit onto the Lego pieces look amazing. Some of the lights were glued too deep or they used too much glue and we couldn't get the Lego piece into the light piece. We have other sets and had no issues, but this one did have issues and we couldn't use the entire set. Sadly.

It's not perfect, or easy, but I like the challenge
I'm not done installing these yet, and they are not easy, but I do like the challenge and they do look really great so far. The instructions should not start with the little van either. When you start dismantling underneath the chassis, the whole thing crumbles in your hand. I had to adjust the way I was doing it after rebuilding the van 4 times. Then I get to the tree house, and the kitchen/basement and it was way less frustrating and more rewarding. I bet so many people returned this just because the van is so frustrating. The next frustration was the lights in the bushes on the front of the house. They are a little different from everything else, in that the LED is in the bottom of a stud and the transparent stud has to fasten in from the bottom. It won't snap in, maybe because the LED is taking up just a bit too much room? I used my woodworking clamps - I positioned the pieces and then took the rubber pads off my clamps and squeezed down with all kinds of pressure so the piece was forced in and didn't release the pressure until several minutes had passed. It seems to be holding but I might need the Kragle, or maybe a heat gun to soften the plastic a little.Still worth it, and it's not meant to be easy. This is for adults who enjoy building building LEGOs. Kids aren't going to have the patience.

Adds pop and makes it a good Christmas display
Only negatives are the treehouse light doesn't disconnect from main house making it awkward to move around and the cord to the truck could be a little longer. Otherwise was well thought out with disconnects at each level so you can still explore the house. Putting together the truck with lights was the worse as it gets very fragile when you start removing pieces so you have to repeat the same process over and over as you rebuild the truck. The house lol lights weren't bad at all to install. Also wish there was information on how to power without battery. I'd assume as its USB you could use any USB wallwort however one should never assume.

My Christmas gift to you, just hit yourself in the face with a brick, it will be less painful.
Three things, 1) The yellow lights you take off the chain garland in front don’t fit onto the light up pieces provided, the soldering blocks it. 2) I tested the lights before assembling, as suggested, and off course, the 2nd floor and attic lights didn’t work anyway, which were the last to be added (the connections rest up on each other in the floors that disconnect to carry the electricity, but it didn’t work. 3) Understand that you are taking a lot of this apart to install this and it took several hours.

Pieces don’t fit together.
Don’t order. The Lego pieces don’t fit in the string lights. You won’t find this out until a couple hours into the build so just don’t start. Order from another company, there are others to choose from.
