But it is surprising well made. The plastic seems sturdy and the bolt for the two halves of the clamp is metal. The clamp has a slight curve on the inside so your device is securely held in place. It does open to a max of 4 inches, (any more and the bolt will fall out) I have the samsung S7 with otterbox defender case and it fit with no issue. It will compress the screen protector causing it to bow out, but I believe that's just because of the case I have. And it really wasnt an issue. The remote: the remote is exactly what I expected it to be. Cheap but does what I need it to. The batter came installed which worried me but it was still powered. It connected to bluetooth through a small switch on the side. The IOS and Android buttons do the same thing no matter the device. And in order to get it to play and stop video on the S7 I had to go into the settings and change what the volume buttons do. So it's just connected to volume. But other than that, it takes the picture.
