LaMotte0168 D-Net with Expandable Pole

This net is smaller than the one I was using, so that's a drawback. I don't care for the expandable feature, just need to keep adjusting it which is a pain, and I don't really need it to be expandable since I'm in the stream wearing waders.To be fair, I haven't only used it one time. Time will tell.

Not as strong of a net frame as I was expecting, but would still works good for small scale kick-netting for macro invertibrates.

I was suspicious of this net as soon as I received it because the color of the handle was different than that shown in the picture, but I thought the manufacturer had just decided to change colors this year. I took it out to a small creek to sample macroinvertebrates, and it quickly became clear that this is a cheap knock off. The "LaMotte" label was really just a paper sticker over top of the real label, which is for a swimming pool net. Shortly after that, the entire net broke off of the handle! The metal was thin and somehow already rusted through. This was clearly a cheap counterfeit item. Buyers beware!

Holes that are used to attach the net are not lined up with each other

I ordered five of these nets to use for environmental education. Two of them arrived with holes drilled in the wrong place so they don't line up and I can't attach the net to the pole. (And of course I missed the returns window so I'm stuck with them.)

This product is awesome. I have used other D-ring nets, and I really like the telescoping handle. My kids live it, too. We caught a good-sized turtle on our first outing!

Very well made. Holds up well under hard use.
