I wear size 11 shoes. Are these too small for me?

I wear 81/2-9 and I still have room. They are very comfortable. I love all the colors they come in.

Will these work for wide ankles/calves or not stay up and cut into the skin?

No, they are tight and leave marks on my legs. I have a little heavier ankles but even my 8 years granddaughter says the feel tight

They're not thick at all.. I'd part around and above the ankle is thicker than the foot part. Think sock though.
