Little Blue Truck Leads the Way

My 17 month old grandson loves this book! I have been reading it to him for at least six months, and he still brings it to me every single day for me to read to him, over and over. I had to replace it because he likes to read it by himself sometimes and he wore out the binding that held it together (he got a bit rough with it). I would highly recommend this book, it’s a cute story with cute pictures, and it’s just very entertaining for a little tyke.

I'm sorry, I very much disagree with the reviewers saying this book is too negative and not as good as the first one. My 16 month old son ADORES this book as much as the first and the Spring time book (parents are harsh on that one too but it's my personal favorite cuz it's so fun to read out loud).The art is phenomenal. The overall message is clear and as a parent, it's admirable that even though the Little Blue Truck gets pushed around a bit in the city, he is still so kind and compassionate, offering his help to the Mayor, just as he offered his help to the mean Dump Truck in the first book. Kindness perseveres and he's acknowledged and celebrated for it.I think this is a worthy sequel and it can be made a super fun read with your child. I personally like to give the Mayor a Colonel Sanders accent and have my son celebrate with me at the end for the Little Blue Truck saving the day. And the parents complaining there's no "beep beep beep" at the end? Come on. Lol. Y'all are too harsh on this series, lighten up a little. It's a solid kids book. I almost didn't buy it cuz of these low reviews but I'm so glad I did. And you should too, if you're thinking about it. Your kiddo will love it. Especially if you add accents.

These are such perfect books for young children! They are sweet and rhymey with beautiful illustrations! I bought this for a baby gift but I have given them many times before. It is age appropriate and easy to understand and enjoy. Kids LOVE these books!! You can't go wrong with any books in this series!

Wonderful books for beginner readers, my kids love them. And good life lessons as well.

This is the second "Little Blue Truck" book by the same two author and illustrator. My 18 month old grandson absolutely loves the first "The Little Blue Truck" though he seems to like the pushy dump truck best of all. This is another good book in the series. It is a little over long for him to sit through - he usually gives up at about the time the mayor starts his speech. Can't say I blame him - politicians can put me to sleep, too. I think when he is a bit older he will want to hear the whole story but in the meantime, when he arrives at my house in the morning, these are the two books he grabs first to have me read to him. The story is very cute (and Little Blue saves the day "Beep, beep, beep") and the illustrations are so much fun - especially the mean looking eyes on all of the other vehicles. I never realized how much expression could be given to the front grill of a vehicle.Reading time is so special - he isn't a cuddly child - more of a rambunctious one but he does like to sit on my lap on the rocking chair and have me read him stories pretty much all day long. Unless it is diaper change or nap time, I always make sure to read to him when he wants it. Reading to and then later having your child read to you or to themselves is a fantastic gift.I love this book for young children and look forward to seeing another book (hopefully) in the near future.

My son loves this story and we read it every single night for bed. He points out little blue truck everywhere in the city. He also let me know that everyone is not nice to little blue. It helps me teach him that faster slow everyone needs to have manners and be nice to each other. It is a way to show that in the end we are all the same and are able to be courteous if we just slow down.

I am compelled to leave probably my first review on Amazon, because this book deserves it. This whole blue truck series is my little 20 month's favorite. There are little lessons to learn from each stories and the words rhyme well and is great for toddlers to learn speaking as they are encouraged to complete the sentences. The illustrations are also beautiful, with many little hidden details and recurring themes across the series.For those who do not know, there is even a downloadable audio book with Alice reading her own book in a very engaging manner. The music soundtrack accompanying the audio book is also very well composed with recurring and appropriate themes and deserves recognition on its own. (The only improvement is that the instrument sounds VST used could be a little more real, but I'm being picky as we are a family of musicians).All in all, we own a huge cupboard of hand-me-downs + new books (probably about 100 books by now), and this blue truck series is one of the best so far. This book is really very nice. The picture and illustrations are attractive for the baby. Really helps to improve their stock of words.
