The media could not be loaded.  Our pool was built in the late 90s. It had fiber optic lights around the perimeter. They required very expensive, hard to find bulbs for replacement, a fire hydrant sized console for the bulb, fan and rotating glass wheel to change colors and it had to pretty much be dark to see the lights.We ripped the fiber optic cable out and replaced it with this strip of lights that is the first 110v led lights in one strip long enough to go around the pool that I have seen. We used white bathroom caulk to secure the strand in the groove for the old fiber optic cable.These lights are MUCH brighter. They are visible in direct mid day sun though not bright. But if it is shady or dusk they are bright (the video is at dusk and doesn't really do them justice honestly) and at night they are VERY bright. I like the more continuous neon look of them although there is a small break in the light every foot (so that you can safely cut it too length).The only negative I would say is that the remote could have more functions like letting you program your own sequence of colors, but it is a minor issue. Not sure I would have taken the time to do that anyway.Of course, the longer strands aren't cheap and the big question is how will the system stand up to being outdoors long term. We have a powered pool cover so the control box is hid from rain and direct sun down with the pulley mechanisms. But it will still see some pretty big temperature variation and condensation. The strand itself I don't have doubts about, just the control box.I will update you about longevity (2 months of summer, no issues). If the seller reads this, please be sure to make replacement control boxes for sale at a reasonable price if you want to get decent reviews because if mine goes out and I either can't get one or you overcharge for it, your rating will plummet.

The media could not be loaded.  These lights exceeded our expectations 10-fold. We bought them because they are waterproof because we use them in an Inflatable foam pit. They are easy to set up, they twist and get kinked like a hose, so you have to to twist the roll a little during setup. They remote and rf device could be better, you need to be RIGHT NEAR the device to change the settings. I wouldn't recommend the strobe setting, it is a strong flash and hard to see but it is only because they are so amazing. The remote is hard to read in the daylight because it it black text on gray buttons...so learn your remote before you use it and have a small flash light. It is also weirdly shaped so it slipped out of my hand several times because the edges are all smooth and curved.Overall, totally amazing lights for what we use them for; I think a 4.5/5 is my actual rating because of things mentioned, but not enough of a bother to drop it to a 4. Not sure how they would hold up long term in the elements but they work great for a few hours in a wet environment.Totally unbiased, non-solicited review from an actual user.

It works, it's brightness is uniform, and bright enough. Nice product out of the box, I hope it lasts awhile.Updated review from 5 to 3 stars. This is used in an indoor setting, it was mounted gently and never touched as it is mounted on a 10 foot ceiling as you can see in the pic. Sections are now suddenly losing colors, so the product does not last as long as it should. it is beginning to fail in 1 year 3 months.

I spent over $1500. on all of these over the past few months & no way to call the seller to just send me two 1500w controllers that stopped working.I'm a sign shop that orders these constantly & wish I had better customer service on Amazon. I've been told there's a contact seller button, but on older orders it disappears.

Item works exactly as described. Excellent for my garage project. Remote works best if the sensor (located on the power supply) is within view of the remote. Highly recommend these for your next project! I also got the aluminum channel separately here on amazon to mount to the walls and made the installation go quickly! This kit comes with smaller pieces, but do yourself a favor and also get the longer (3 feet) pieces to use.

Product short circuited after one year of use. I bought a replacement controller and it continued to short. Had to throw away.

Awesome. Simply put. My only issue is that the multicolor fade in and out is too fast; and none of the remotes for any of these products works quite like it should. And you need to be right next to the outlet for the remote to work. But those are minor irritants.
