Good for unlocking locks quickly.

I love these when they work, but they also frustrate me quite often. They're very solid and very reasonably priced. The clamping action is solid and...weirdly satisfying. The biggest problem is that it takes at least 2 hands to use them. Forget about 1 hand use - and sometimes it's actually challenging with 2. The problem is the way that the movable jaw slides. Until you clamp these down, the movable jaw slides away in a flash if you tilt the clamp due its weight. If you try to preset the position close to where you want to clamp it, as one does with most clamps, you have to be incredibly careful to avoid it sliding away. That also means you can't position the clamp with the movable jaw at the bottom unless you hold it with 2 hands - which means you have no hand to hold the work in place. It's also easy to inadvertently release the clamp by tapping the release button while moving the assembly after you get it in place. If you can manage this process, it's a great, very solid clamp. As others have said, they also can't be used in tight space because the lever starts out at 90 degrees. Given all the limitations, I should hate these, yet I often grab them first and try to use them. At first, I thought I was going to purchase more of these right away, but I haven't because of all the above. Jorgensen could make these superb if they addressed 3 things: 1) reduce the hair trigger release sensitivity, 2) keep the movable jaw from sliding away so easily, 3) give the handle a ratchet action so you don't have to move it all the way out to 90 degrees when you apply pressure. If they did all that, these would be my absolutely favorite clamps.

I hate these clamps. So much. I thought these would be easy to operate. They're not. You need 2 maybe 3 hands to operate it. Once you get them clamped on the table sometimes they disengage for no reason. I would not recommend. UPDATE I may not be happy with the product but I'm ecstatic about the customer service. Pros: Great throat depth and clamping power like a crock's jaws. Cons: I don't have any trouble using them, as others have suggested, but the clamping lever does require a fair amount of operating room perpendicular to the clamp so they just don't work in some applications. As a contractor I prefer to carry a DeWalt Tough Systems tool bag to keep everyday carry items handy rather than overload my belt with tools. These were going to be added to that bag for various clamping duties, like holding a board still while it's being ripped, but these are surprisingly heavy and I don't want to add that much weight to the bag without knowing I'm going to need them. All in all really great clamps that I'll be buying more of. If you ever need to clamp something like your life depends on it, these clamps won't dissapoint.

So I take my dogs for rides quite often in the backseat area of my Ram 1500 Crew Cab pickup truck. One of the features of this truck is that the back seats fold up and there is a platform that folds down so it becomes a flat surface across the entire back seat area. However, I found over time that the platform doesn't hold up well to the 2 to 3 dogs running around so I custom fit a 1" thick piece of foam on top of the platform then place a folded up comforter on top of that. I then use the clamps to hold the corners secure so it stands up to the dogs running around. It is also very comfortable for them to sleep back there. These Clamps allow you to snug up hand tight then close the rachet to snug up further. They are perfect for what I was looking for. I initially used C-Clamps but they weren't as convenient or easy as these. Down the road, I'm sure I'll purchase more of these for woodworking type projects.
