Mainly because the side is more square rather than rectangular. The build was sturdy and despite our 9 months old baby try to claw and put all his body weight on the mesh, it remained as it was. The pen is still fairly large so make sure your room has space. Overall I’m glad we brought this knowing baby is playing within a safe…er environment when wanting to leave him for 15-20min to do the dishes. And for the price it deserve my 5 starWould definitely suggest putting on top of carpet or soft foam inside on the floor for cushioning but that is the same for all other play pen of the type.One thing to note is that baby still manages to hit himself on the metal structure from time to time.
