Easy to figure out how to use, even w/o instructions included
I had no issues with this tool. I've never used a grommet tool, but upon studying the design for a minute, I was able to figure out how the thing works in conjunction with the grommets.Yes, its a little cheaply made- isn't the greatest quality, but just don't press too hard when forming the grommets. Also, if you can get a hole punch (I used a regular hand-held paper hole punch) and make the holes in advance of using the tool with the grommets, its goes a LOT smoother.I think some users may be applying too much pressure with the tool and the cheap little pieces of metal (grommets) because they're not all that durable, so you really don't need to press very hard at all to get the metal to bend over. Also, as someone else mentioned, it does work the best if you can rotate the tool a little while pressing. Seems to make a more even clamping around the perimeter if you can move the tool while pressing, releasing, turning, pressing, releasing, rotating, etc.

Hard to use
This grommet tool works, IF you can get the grommet to stay balanced on the tool. It was a nightmare! The grommets kept falling in the floor. I gave up and started hole punching and came up with a new idea. If you need one of these, Iād research and get one that does not have this problem.

Weak materials. Cheap fasteners.
The fastener eyes are a very very light weight aluminum and look all shredded when finished. Also the handle just crumpled under my grip on like the 2nd use. Like within 2 minutes of opening the box.

Follow directions and don't squeeze too hard
We used these to put together our vellum wedding invitations with the picture behind it (They turned out very pretty). There were definitely 5-10 that came damaged, but most worked super well once I tried a few figuring out how much pressure to apply so it didn't destroy the invitation. Would use again if I needed to do it again.
