I have a set of outswing french doors for my new office, and normal door stops did not help the few times a gust of wind took them for a ride. What to do? Install one of these. But, my installation, as you can see in the photo, is for top frame. Just not enough room to mount the closer on the door. With some help from the seller, I got that sorted out.Then it was just a quick cut on one of my machines to make the right shims (wall isn't done, but this will be sturdy until we plaster) and I was off. The only thing I might change is to drill slightly larger holes on the other side, install a pair of shims with the OD of the holes (to prevent crushing of the door), and run carriage bolts through to the bracket on the closing arm. Ive tapped and threaded the door, but these doors are only about 1mm thick, and only got 1 and a half threads there.If you got a bit more skill than installing a set of blinds, you should be able to tackle this project.
