It's cheap plastic (didnt expect anything more though) but for under 10$ it's a perfect gift for a kid that loves to draw but not quite at the age to not try to eat pencils and crayons. I did remove the 2 magnets that come with it because they are obviously choking hazardous. But my son loves this thing and gets to practice his scribbles without the fuss.
