I try to buy in quantity, specially if I know I'll need more down the road! These usually don't last long around my house. I use them for multiple thing! I always try to stake my cages with zip ties. In the past cages alone fall over especially with indeterminate type tomatoes that keep growing. Taking a little extra time and spending a few extra dollars keeps you from having major headaches later and damaging your plants trying to set them back up. These stakes are plastic coated and durable. I use a hard plastic mallet to get them into the ground. It's not heavy like a rubber mallet. Putting 50+ stakes in the ground can make anyone tired and sore, so I use the light weight hard plastic mallet. It also protects the stakes as well as you drive them into the ground. I also use these for a little roost for younger chickens when they are growing up in a little 4x6 tractor.
