Very Challenging
This thing is pretty challenging to stay balanced on! When we busted this thing out of the box it was all I could do to stay up on it for 3 seconds. Now that we've had it for a week I'm finding myself able to stay up for 30-60 seconds. It is definitely a work out for muscles that are seldom used in everyday life. As far as construction goes the board is high quality. We got the corkboard topped material and we quite like it. I do wish however it was even a little softer. Using the material that is put on the top of wake surfboards might be a good option down the road as that material seems to be soft and sturdy. I wear a size 11 shoe and find that if I am not wearing shoes it is uncomfortable to be on the board. Wearing socks is not ideal as it causes your balancing movements to slip inside your sock which has turned into overcompensating movements in my experience. Short background on me: 34 YO male, 6'1" 180 lbs, I grew up snowboarding weekly, I've wakesurfed about 20 times. Not super adept at it but I can get up and play around.

The Whirly Board is a great accompanying item for anyone with a stand up desk
I have had my Whirly Board now for a week. I thought to give it a week before writing a review. I now use it a number of times throughout the day. The Whirly Board is a great accompanying item for anyone with a stand up desk. My stand up desk is a converted mid century folding bar. The problem with standing desks in general is the fact that even though you are standing you may find yourself not moving around. Your knees become locked and then stiff. I chose the skater grip for the top surface and it feels good on my feet.I work barefoot when possible. I work at home so I can use the board when I am watching television. My board came with a handwritten note from the creator and inventor Eric Olsen. The construction is really top quality, made in America by a small company. The kind of quality one would find with a good skateboard. The size of the deck allows you to position your stance in a number of ways. The rounded fulcrum and end pivots are of a good quality plastic and makes your balance workout pleasant. I have not gotten to the point of doing full spins yet. It is a very handsome accessory to my office. Please note you should not use this on hard wood floors or smooth concrete. Use it safely. For those people with concerns about how to use the board, there are some handy YouTube videos available.

Get the Wide Version for Standing Desks
This board is great, does what it supposed to, is extremely well built, looks nice, and makes standing at a desk all day enjoyable. However, get the wide version if you are going to use it with a standing desk. The skinny version has a lot of concave and it will hurt your feet if you stand barefoot. I believe the skinny version is built more for skateboarders who are honing their skills. The company has amazing service and shipped me the wide version after I contacted them and it is 100% perfect.

Great board, just not for large feet
I spent hours researching balance boards for my stand-up desk at my home office. The Whirly Board was my first choice based on comments, questions I had asked, and its design. Unfortunately after the second day I knew I'd be returning it. I wear a size 15 shoe and this board isn't designed for my large feet. The issue is the raised lip that runs around the perimeter of the board. The sole and ball of my feet rest directly on top which creates a pressure point. Within 20 minutes my feet are asleep and it becomes painful to keep using. I went with the cork rubber grip b/c I wanted something I could use while barefoot or in socks. With the board design there's no way I can go barefoot and even with heavy duty athletic shoes the numbness and pain occur. The craftsmanship is great and the board easily handles my 6'4 frame and 220-lbs. It's definitely challenging maintaining your balance but even as a novice I didn't have a problem using it at my desk. Over time I can see my balance improving and I loved how the board kept my legs, torso and core engaged. I'm disappointed this board didn't work out for me. I've gone ahead with my second choice and ordered a Revolution FIT which has the same length as the Whirly Board but is 14" wide so it can easily handle my size 15 feet. Unfortunately it's also more expensive but it is what it is.

High quality and fun for the whole family
I just ordered this balance board for the purpose of using at a standing desk. I then realized there is a wider version and was going to exchange it. However my wife and kids saw it and thought it was really cool and have started using it, so I just ordered a second one (but the wide version) to use for my standing desk. It appears to be high quality materials and construction but itโs brand new so we shall see. Itโs not exactly cheap but have learned from many past experiences that buying โclonesโ and knock off brands on Amazon usually needs up being a return as they are terrible. Basically saying this board is worth the price especially if you plan to use it for years

The board's oddly good for practicing 360 flips & fs/bs 180s
This board has a surprising amount of utility for practicing skateboarding beyond the immediately obvious options. Some examples: -You can literally practice the scoop & catch for a 360 flip with this board by leaning it slightly toeside & scooping the tail. -Aside from improving general balance, it's not actually that helpful for manuals versus a real skateboard, but doing body varials on it without the board ends touching the ground is great dynamic balance practice, akin to 180 jumps on a balance beam or a rail. The balance is similar to doing tricks into manuals too. -Setting up your feet up in nollie position & trying to balance also helps you train yourself to be comfy with keeping your weight in the "back seat" for tricks. -Doing 180s by pushing off the back end of the board onto the front end gives a good sense of shifting your weight properly for actual fs/bs 180s on a skateboard. You can practice reverts in a similar way (back to front to back end weight shift with your front foot near the nose). -Likewise, you practice the "late shifty" motion needed for bs noseblunts this way, all without having to actually pop the board. All that said, it feels like something that should be indispensable for beginner & intermediate skateboarders. Getting used to balancing on this would likely get you comfy with things like moving ollies & the aforementioned uses are great for a lot of bread-&-butter motions for skateboarding. Speaking from my own experience, it's certainly helped me stay sharp on days where I can't skate due to rain or other reasons. I feel like it's more helpful than carpet boarding, even. Sure, you can just see how long you can balance on it & do the occasional shuv, but things really open up when you get a bit more creative.

Something Different
This past year, I have started to become interested in working on my balance as I had weak ankles and tight hips which resulted in nasty injuries during trail races. I'm starting to become a big believer than all homes should have wobble boards as they take up very little space and even hopping on one a couple times a day for short periods can strengthen your balance, muscles, and joints. I have not fallen at all since I've been using mine for a year. But I digress... I also have always wanted to learn to skateboard so here I am in my mid-40s trying new things. I had a $20 Yes4All wobble board I love to play with, but I mastered it and needed something more challenging. This seemed like a good step between the wobble and the a Bongo board (which requires balancing in very different ways), and it seems like it could be used for much more. I can't wait to look at some YouTube videos for ideas for tricks and exercises to use with it. It looks so fun! For just balancing alone, I found it a bit more challenging than my Yes4All, but it not impossible to balance onโespecially if you have used a balance or wobble board before. After trying it for a few minutes, I was able to stay up for about a minute. It's going to take me a little time to build up to where I was on my wobble board. I found Whirly put more pressure on my hip and thigh muscles to balance on as my legs are much wider apart than on a regular wobble board. This is not at all a bad thing, but it may a bit difficult for someone who has never used a balance or skateboard to get started on this. However, I totally disagree with the review that called it dangerous. Sure it can be dangerous (all balance boards can be), but if you take it slow and/or use a chair or other solid piece of furniture to hold onto when you start out it is not any more dangerous than a regular wobble board. The key is not to rush it, and let it tip to the ground to hop off if it is overwhelming. I can't wait to learn more with this cool board! This is a beautifully-made piece of equipment that I'm very happy to have invested in for myself and the rest of my family.

Worth every penny
Office game changer! Let's talk price: At first I was like eeeek this thing is as expensive as my desk but when I got it, I understood why. Solid build, great materials, will last me a long time. Function: challenging to use but a lot of fun! It's not a board you get good at so fast, you loose the benefits. You see progress in your balance fast enough that you can still type and have online meetings without distraction. But not so fast you get bored of it (no pun intended hehe) and shove it to the side because the novelty wore out. The first day I got it, I was stood on it for 6hrs and didnt notice until the end of the day. Before that, I was standing for about 1-2hr a day. Worth the buy and longevity.

Yes
It's harder than it looks - good practice for foil board sports. Good quality build.

Great product, sturdy, well made and loving it already!
Shipped to Canada (Toronto) very quickly, very happy with that. Iโm trying to gain some balance strength and prep for the snow season. While this company do offer a standing desk balance board I chose this one and use it while at my home desk. Iโm an amateur on the longboard and intermediate snowboarder, wanted something to get better balance and control. This is a great product, very well made and love the company, check their videos!

Great for a change while using a stand-up desk
Works well while being used at a stand-up desk. If you need more stability, you can place it on an anti-fatigue mat while you develop better balance.
