Q: Is this ok to use in wood? I’m trying to repair a wooden leg on an antique couch and need to make a mold of the other leg.

Yes. Just put silicone release or a very thin layer of Vaseline or equivalent on the leg and then wipe excess off with towel before molding. It will ensure a smooth cast and easier to pop out.

Q: This is will not setup where it touches my polyurethane covered wood master, solid everywhere except for a thin layer of goop on object. This normal?

That's the cure inhibition! it happens when the silicone contacted with some element inhibit the platinum system to react. elements like sulfer, tin etc. you may check out with our YouTube video about the cure inhibition. According to your description, should be the covered polyurethane issue, sulfer contained base upon our experience, in this case, the solution is either change another master object without the cover, or do pretreatment with this object before cast with platinum silicone, please contact with our support team if you need further information.

Q: Can this silicone product handle temperatures up to 270C/518F for 6+ hours?

Suggested using temperature is NO higher than 230C/446F. If 270C/518F for 6+hours in ventilated condition, will not destroy the mold immediately, but it will reduce the aging time/duplication times of the mold.
