Other than versatility, is there a difference in performance/intensity/reach between the zip-apart and the one piece mat?

Hello. The intensity of the zip-apart mat and the other mat sets is the same. The spikes are identical. There is more reach with the regular mat sets because the number of spikes on the mat plus the pillow exceeds the number on the zip-apart mat. The large mat set has the greatest reach, with a larger mat and larger pillow.

Is the covers removable?

do you use it with or without clothing?

Use the Kanjo Mat Set with clothing until you acclimate to it. Once you are comfortable it is safe to use on bare skin.

Will i get hurt if i fell asleep on this mat for hours?

No, it actually feels better the longer you're on it. HOWever, if you shift positions, it will be prickly and wake you up. But, what I do is, simply throw it on the floor and go back to sleep. One time I got a wee scrape on my elbow by grazing against it trying to get into position. No big deal. I have a friend who often falls asleep on his mat for hours at a time. It's really helping with his migraines.
