These weights came as described. I attached them to the bottom of our derby car. They can be removed and attached several times on the car until you find your center of gravity sweet spot. They can be cut with scissors, box cutter, or xacto blade. I raced on a rough track and the bump stop at the end of the track jarred all cars pretty badly, yet my weights never fell off! Just make sure you know what type of track you are racing before buying these weights, because some tracks have raised slots on them, that could possibly affect clearance on your car, thus causing you to bottom out and slow your car down. You may have bottom clearance with one application of weights, but I double stacked my weights because I needed extra weight in one distinct section-near the very back of my car. Fortunately, I raced on a flat, smooth, PVC track that had no slots, so the clearance was no issue with my car and weights. If your track has a raised wheel guide up the center of the car, you may want to consider cutting the wood underneath your car so these weights can be placed more embedded under the car for proper clearance. If not, then I would suggest drilling holes under the car and going with some cylinder type of weights, or weights to apply on top of your car. All in all, this weight strip worked out for me and my track. Easy to add or take off weight to get to 5oz. Our car was 5 oz, on the money. Btw, we finished 3rd. The weights did their job. I just think 1st and 2nd had a thinner designed car and they played with their axels, bent, to race on just 3 wheels to win.

This is a great product. I needed to add some weight to my kid’s pinewood derby car. At first, I was a little skeptical to use anything other than metal weights but I decided to try it out. The weighted strip comes in one piece so you can cut it and size it any way you like. It was very easy to cut with scissors. The adhesive backing is very good. I actually had to stack a couple of cut out pieces and they stuck to each other and the car very well. Beacuse we could size it any way we wanted to, we were also able to be very precise with the weight requirements for the race. The car did very well during the race - came in second after several heats with over 30 cars participating. All the weights stayed in place with no problem whatsoever. Would definitely recommend.

These easy stick on weights make it very easy to adjust weight on a pinewood derby car. The hash marks make it simple to remove fractions of an ounce. The weights can be cut with household scissors and can be adjusted a time or two after initial application. I recommend these inexpensive weights in a pinch if for nothing else than for the easy way you can trim off pieces. These weights would probably not work on a wooden track as they stick below the car a fraction of an inch and would get caught on any wooden risers between the tires. However, on an aluminum track with only thin rails between the tires, this weight will work fine.

Wish I knew this existed years ago. Added the weight needed for speed and has a low profile to reduce air drag. Cut it to fit where needed. Flexable to fit in more areas. Looks good. Not a bad value and quality. I always add glue so things don't fall off, but should last a long time.

This was perfect for our derby car, brought the weight to exactly 4.9 ounces. Easy peasy!

Although this product is marketed toward pinewood car racing, it works extremely well for adding weight to model railroad rolling stock. The photo shows a 1/4 inch scale model of a War Department trench railway flat car under construction. This model is laser cut and is on the small side for 1:48 scale - really needs extra weight to track properly and to avoid derailments. The product is easy to cut with scissors and glue between the car's frame members. I intend to cut out more weight for the spaces at the car's end. Very pleased with the product; however, I would like to see thinner sheets added to the range to better fit smaller scale rolling stock.

I really wanted to love this. The ease and weight, I was determined to love it. It seemed so convenient! Well that comes at a cost. We put this on my daughter's race car and then she painted her design on the car. Well the race is in 2 days and where the weight is, all these rust spots are appearing. So visually the car is ruined because of the weight. It's a great idea, I wish they would have specified that it couldn't be painted. If I had known that I wouldn't have bought this.
