Really Lovely bag for commuting and general days out etc.
Really Lovely bag for commuting and general days out etc.Front pockets are not that secure with just a magnetic button the main compartment is secured with a drawstring and flap so feels safe.Best bit is the feel of the materials used the comfort and the overall uniqueness of the design which to me is lovely.

Attractive small/medium sized top-loading backpack with one or two deficiencies
What I was looking for:================I bought this backpack for university looking to replace my other panel-loading backpacks (the ones that zip open all the way from the top down the sides, effectively cutting the backpack in half when you open it). I am absolutely sick of zip-panel-loading designs! Because:- They effectively have less space as you have to kind-of hold them together with all the stuff in them as you zip them up- They are awkward to zip up in busy environments or rushed circumstances- When opened they are liable to spill your stuff everywhere- They simply don’t feel secure to me - having your valuable gadgets in a bag that is all held together by a zipWhat I found:==========I arrived at the Case Logic LODO “large” backpack after sifting through hundreds of backpacks looking for the following criteria:- Top-loading (not zip-panel-loading like most modern backpacks)- Snap-buckle fastening of main compartment (not zip)- Proper padded laptop compartment (not just a thin internal sleeve added as an afterthought)- External mesh pockets on both sides (for an umbrella and water bottle)- Preferably attractive and stylishThat’s it - 5 simple criteria! I was amazed that *none* of the backpacks I found (out of hundreds) matched all of these simple criteria. Only three backpacks out of hundreds had top-loading with buckle fastening. None of these had external mesh pockets on both sides.Apart from the Case Logic LODO large (this backpack), my shortlist of backpacks that matched nearly all criteria were:HiCollections Canvas Backpackhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015RFMJH4/SOCKO Laptop Backpackhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CQQ6A7CSTM Bags Drifter Backpackhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00J2R29W4Thule Subterra Daypackhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0133APIXWCaribee Arrow Top Loading Daypackhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B018ZHJIKWKAKA Laptop Bag Backpackhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01E89989WReview of the Case Logic LODO “large” backpack itself========================================This is an attractive and pleasantly unusual small-medium sized backpack which (at last) has a self-contained bucket-style main compartment that opens at the top, with a drawstring covered by a snap-buckle lid.Mine actually arrived dirty from Amazon with soiling and greasy smears on the lid like it had been stepped on in a messy warehouse (I have not deducted stars for this). I couldn’t be bothered with the palaver of asking for a replacement so I cleaned it myself. The bag meets all of my criteria (above) apart from mesh pockets for umbrella and water bottle. I’m going to take it to a tailor and have these sewn on. The external front pockets are not really adequate for this purpose - At 6” wide x 6.5” high they are not high enough and the pocket flaps are forced to stay open which just looks daft on a bag like this - which has a bright interior lining. In fact these pockets are only really good for temporary storage of things you wouldn’t mind too much if you lost them - e.g. a chocolate bar at lunch or some loose change. They are secured by a single magnetic popper. Two poppers would have been better, and better yet would have been removing the lid flaps and replacing with an elastic opening for water bottles etc. Anyway, whatever! The bag has a good tough padded base, and a fairly large reasonably well padded (better than other bags I’ve used) internal laptop compartment. There is also a less well padded tablet compartment directly in front of this (which in fact fits my 11” Macbook Air perfectly). The tablet pocket fits my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1” with and without a silicone case on it, but not with a larger book style cover I have. The entire bag is a perfect fit for an A3 (double A4 size) paper pad in portrait orientation, allowing about 3/4” leeway each side. I carry one of these for mind mapping and am delighted it fits. With laptop, tablet and A3 paper pad, there is still enough room for me to carry a thick A4 pad, pencil case, umbrella, a slimline file folder and a couple of packs of sandwiches - and probably a lab coat as well which I have yet to try. There is an external zip pocket at the top back behind the lid which is a saving grace of this backpack. You could feel safe about putting a wallet or smart phone in there.Snap-buckle closure of the main compartment means you can enter lecture theatres and meetings late without the zip noise of a ridiculous zip-panel-opening backpack. These buckles though are very small. As someone else has said, the female portion is metal, while the male insert is plastic, and at that size I wouldn’t be too surprised if the inserts didn’t last very long. The bag has a sensible amount of padding on the back and straps for commuting and around-town use. Obviously, this isn’t a hiking backpack though could be used as such for short trips if you were feeling slightly masochistic. The profile of the bag is quite slim and so the centre of gravity sits close to your back, reducing leverage on your shoulders which is an advantage.Overall, this is a lovely backpack, with a nice roomy bucket-style main compartment which will cushion your laptop and give you lots of nice secure open space to put files, pads, folders and a couple of books in. It doesn’t have all the multi-pocket organisational features of many other rucksacks but I find those kind of things fussy and rarely used in practice. I’ve taken one star off for the limited-use external pockets on the front and lack of all-important external pockets to put water bottle or umbrella. I’ll be very happy to use it in general.

Bad Quality Closure
Bought this bag in November. Was very please, good overall build quality on the item, nice solid buckles and canvas. Really spacious main compartment that I used for everything from work to weekends away (its big enough for a couple days of clothes and toiletry bag). After a couple of months I had a problem, the draw string closure on the main compartment became worn, and the outer coating wore through. I was disappointed by this because I really liked the bag and its really spacious. I considered swapping the cord for paracord but thought I'd speak to Amazon first. They swapped the item pronto for me however when I opened the new one next day, IT WAS ALREADY DAMAGED. In almost the exact same manner I return my other for, the top of the pull tie closure was worn through. Returned and refunded. Poor build quality for something that was £65 at purchase, especially from a quality manufacturer such as Case Logic who I have been more than happy with in the past.

Spedizione Amazon Prime come sempre affidabile e velocissima.
