I'm always careful to cool it down after the fact. A setting of 1 is equivalent to a standard hair dryer. It has been dropped many times - admittedly from pretty high distances, it has been kicked, its been to countless job-sites and its seen 100s of vehicles since I've purchased it. I bought this in 2022, and it's STILL working. It finally has started to make a funny noise just last week and I promptly came back to amazon and ordered 2 more. One for my travel bag and one for the shop. I've spent more money on costlier brands and they've only lasted 3-6 months. I'm VERY happy with my purchase.
