Just what I need!
Nice compact format, lots of splendid phrases which will help me in my conversation, and now I understand 'passe composé', nothing to it. The plumber and I have super conversations as neither of us understand each other except when it comes to the serious stuff about blocked drains or a new kitchen tap, but the chat after the work is done is nul,, I dont understand his accent, nor he mine, and I never know if he is talking in the past or present, at the bibliotheque I have better luck, I tried out 'je fus a le marché l'autre jour' the exclamations of 'quelle elegance' made want to improve my text, the vocabulary is good, just the dreaded grammar, so I have high hopes with this new book to improve.

not the best "design"
The passé composé/imparfait and both together sections work well: there are explanations and exercices for just about any situation. Personally, I could not care less about the passé simple (we don't teach that anymore) nor the futur antérieur (shoud be in another book). The past conditional should be in a book dedicated to conditionnal and si clauses. Infinitif passé should also be elsewhere. Basicalyy, I would have prefered a book with passé composé, imparfait et plus-que-parfait only.

The way to learn
Easy and fun to do the exercises. Love the product and the time of delivery and price were great. I would purchase from here again without any hesitation.

Lots of Great Exercises!
This is a smaller workbook of 120 pages focusing on past-tense French verbs. I like this particular author as she provides lots of exercises practicing writing sentences as we speak in sentences. It begins with reviewing the passe compose, moves on to the imparfait, then there's the plus-que-parfait, some variations in both the passe compose and imparfait, then the passe simple, and other past tenses - 10 in all! There are many exercises where you put the correct verb tense in a sentence, and translate English sentences into French. This is a great review workbook for those wanting to brush up on past verb tenses.
