Amazing TV, Awesome Picture, Very Smart, Appealing Curve, No 3D, No mounting screws!
This is a completely amazing piece of technology! The display is beautiful and even with the majority of content not in 4K yet, the standard HD is awesome. The price point its a great deal for the specs, especially since the MU8500 2017's just came out the KS8500 2016's dropped pretty dramatically. The TV is extremely smart and will even control non-Samsung products such as my PS4. I purchased the 8500 series Blu Ray to go with it which provides stunning picture on 4K disc. Besides the disc, the TV has most of the apps already built in that the blu ray does so it's a bit redundant, but to get true 4K disc is always the best practice. I did check Netflix and Amazon 4K streaming and its pretty damn awesome too. My only real compliant about the TV itself is that Samsung didn't invest in keeping 3D like LG did. It's not something I use a ton but considering my 6 year old 47" LG does pretty impressive cinema 3D (you can use the glasses the movie theater gives you) and my brand new Samsung 4K 65" doesn't is a bit frustrating. Its cool to have some friends over for an hour or two and watch 3D but its the type of thing you use for like 2 hours every 6 months and forget about. I didn't feel the need to pay $3500 for the 65" curved LG LED (although its beautiful). I couldn't justify going from $1699 to $3499 for OLED and the TV being the same exact size. The only other annoying this is that Samsung DOES NOT include mounting screws, which is super annoying! You do not need a new curved mount, as long as you have a mount that will go up to 65" (mine goes up to 70") and they do included the mounting bushings that the screws go into, but no screws?! Seems insane but it's true, when you have everything opened up all over the living room and you are looking through every single piece of packing thinking you lost the screws is a bit nuts. If you look at the included list of accessories screws are in fact NOT listed which is hard to believe. You will need to run to your local Home Depot or Lowes and get Qty 4 M8 45MM screws which of course the book and the instructions don't say anywhere! After reading up on lots of online forums and calling Best Buy we eventually figured it out. It barley cost be $5 bucks can't believe Samsung doesn't include them.

Great Picture and Value for the money!
Several of our friends have upgraded to large around 65" TVs and we were very impressed at the quality of the picture. Our current TV was a 40" Samsung which is over 8 yrs old. I have always found Samsung quality and customer service to be top notch, so I saw no reason to jump ship. We settled on the 65KS8500 Curved 65 Inch which we bought through the Video & Audio Center on Amazon. We did have a few problems with the delivery, The 1st was that I was given a tracking number for UPS. The number did not look anything like a UPS number, believe me I have seen a lot of them! And when I tried it on the UPS site it told me it could not be found. I sent an email to the shipper and got an immediate response telling me that it was not shipped via UPS, instead the used another 3rd party shipper since because of its size it would have to be hand trucked in from the road. Once that was taken care of we waited for it's arrival. The truck driver was great, he told me that I would probably not want to accept delivery... he was right, on corner of the box was crushed. Looked like it was dropped. I did not accept delivery. The driver gave me a receipt and the phone number of the shipper, Video & Audio Center. I called and talked with a wonderful CS Rep who offered to credit my card with the sale or ship a replacement. I saw no reason not to have another set shipped and she set it up on an expedited schedule. The same driver delivered the replacement and moved it into the living room where he helped unpack it so that I could inspect it. It appeared perfect so I excepted the shipment and I am so glad I did! The picture on 1080P is outstanding, and on 4K it is simply beautiful. This is also a smart TV with built in WIFI which was easy to setup. I wasnt totally sure that I would need or much less like having a Smart TV, but since I have Amazon Prime I thought we might get some use out of it... and we have. We live in a ponderosa pine forest in the mountains of AZ. We had a pretty decent snow over New Years which took out our DirectTV dish. We switched over to Amazon Prime and watched several episodes of Grand Touring in 4K and then the movie Sully also in 4K. When the movie was over the storm had blown away and the dish was clear so we watched football on DirectTV. Another not so small problem was that my 20 year old Denon surround sound receiver amp was not compatible with the HDMI inputs that the Samsung wanted. After a bit of research I bought a Denon AVR-S510BT for $279. It is so much better than my old Denon that I had paid over $2000 for back in the day. It was an added expense but well worthwhile to end up with a very flexible home entertainment that should be future proof for many years to come! I have to give Video & Audio Center a lot of credit for their excellent customer service. Things do sometimes get damaged in shipment, it is nice to see that some companies put the customer 1st and help to get the product replaced as quickly as possible. The Samsung UN65KS8500 is a real bargain offering a great deal of value and a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend it to my friends...

Killer TV , beautiful blacks , not so beautiful viewing angles , absolutely no light bleed issues here.
This TV flawless. The blacks are totally black if set up properly. I think the design is beautiful. It looks awesome even turned off. The picture is perfect. Maybe I just lucked out and got a perfect build. I was looking for the light bleed issues some people were reporting but none on my TV. I do how ever have a small gripe. The off axes viewing angles are horrible.. The picture quality drops badly more than 6 feet to the left or right of center. The TV box is lame. You do not want to put your hands on the new screen until after its burn in hours. The box does not have a lift up and off TV ability. You must reach down into box and pull it out. I found that a little disconcerting when trying to handle a 65" TV carefully for set up. You always want to keep the TV box for moving or reshipping bad unit. This box is the cheapest poorly thought out TV box I have ever seen for a big screen TV. That is my only 2 negatives and that is no big deal but it keeps it from 5 stars. You do need a new surround sound receiver with HDMI 2.0 to really make this TV perform. I running a XOBX S and the ultra blue rays will blow your mind visually. The geek dudes will tell you to turn panel way down to level 3 but thats useless. I have mine on level 14 and its perfect and no light bleed issues. If you wanna watch this tv with muted light then just get a cheap TV because this TV shines when you turn up the light. I also like the Soap opera effect , ya call me crazy. If you hate SOE so much then buy a TV from the 1990s and smear Vaseline on your screen and move on. You can obviously turn off the dejudder and have much less sharp picture but why? The blacks on this TV are blacker than the blacks of my just replaced Panasonic Plasma .This is the best gaming TV you can buy currently. Enjoy

A beautiful and well-configured TV.

Excellent picture but struggle to see significant difference between HD and 4K broadcasts. Still tinkering with it. The electrical cord doesn't fit on firmly and has come loose on couple of occasions. The Set doesn't recognize the Bell 4K receiver, at least not yet, so can't use the Samsung Remote, for now(worked well with the HD receiver when set up with that initially). Had to adjust our TV stand significantly to accommodate the legs that are set wide apart, you need about 44 inches of shelf space. Stable but almost had to send it back; ended up needing to remove an adjustable/rotating stand on our TV cabinet to accommodate. XD MEDIA INC have at a very good price and were excellent to deal with.
