Install
Easy install. Just need a good pair of wire cutters (for hose) or sharp knife and a cutting board, 2 sets of pliers (for the fridge connection) and a Philips head ( better yet screw gun) for the clamp that holds the filter in place (on the wall or back of fridge), Plastic fittings can easily cross thread when connecting to parts that aren’t square (line at the fridge). Stayed calm and got through it fine. Prefer brass and metal compression fittings but I’m an old schooler from anther time. All connections worked on First try no leaks. The filter completely eradicated the taste issue we had with our new fridge 👍🏻👍🏻. Showed up early and am very satisfied. WARNING. As mentioned before I’m an old timer and reading instructions is something I rarely do. This is a CRItICAL step. Before plugging into the freezer you need to flush out the filter. The water will come out as black then after several gallons run clear. You’ve just flushed out the charcoal filter and now it’s ready to go. Do this before connecting to the fridge. Happy icing!!! good filter - good price
i bought this to save on my fridge filter replacement costs. i still have the fridge filter in there, but i figure if it's filtering already clean water it will last substantially longer. So far had it installed for about 2 months and works perfectly. Install was pretty straight forward. i am pretty handy but this was my first time doing any type of work like this and my kitchen is tiny so my challenges were related to routing the water line.Additionally, something I didn't know, I had to replace my copper tubing which previously supplied my fridge with this plastic tubing. Not a big deal for me but i'm pretty sure that is not up to code where i live. So if you care about that kind of thing you may need to run to a hardware store and pickup some things to retrofit the copper line.

Add on filter
Just what I wanted for a gift. Add on water filter for ice and water from an older fridge with no built in filter. Will be easy to install and will result in better tasting ice cubes and water! Satisfied!

Very helpful filter
Helps the refrigerator water and ice taste better because the little LG filter is awful

Very easy Setup
Set up a water line to my Garage fridge and the taste was terrible. My wife didn't even like to use the Ice Cubes as they tasted bad (she chews on ice cubes after they soften in her beverage). Bought this and had it installed in ~10 mins. Could have been quicker I just needed to figure out what setup I was going to use (I used my own polyethylene line as the provided one was a bit stiff). Mounted it to the wall with the supplied bracket. Included instructions very easy to follow. Ran 4 gals of water through the filter prior to testing and after that it tasted crisp and clean. Very happy with the purchase.

Crystal clear and clean water!
The media could not be loaded. Best damn water I ever had. In fact, it's so clean and devoid of tap water smell that I almost miss it. It feels so unnatural to me that I miss tap, but I know that's just from being held hostage for so many years of drink tap as the norm, that I need to adjust to now. Its even cleaner than bottled water if you can believe that?! Just be sure to flush out with water using a separate water line for 5 minutes to get all the carbon out before using/connecting to your fridge. Else you will get black ice. This is why I connected a Y connector with a separate valve, just for flushing alone. Worked great!

Had hopes but...
I have been making ice by using a Brita water filter pitcher pouring water into ice cube trays for years now because our old ice maker makes bad tasting ice. We have just purchased a new refrigerator and thought we should get a in line filter to make it easier for making ice that wasn't nasty because of the local water. First this kit is fairly simple to install, just wish there was about 5 more feet of the hose. One wrong cut and to short and you are screwed. I ended up cutting a piece of the line to short and was unable to mount the filter where I was planning. Tip, screw the fittings on first then insert the water lines as the line will want to twist up while screwing on the fitting. Now for the quality. The ice still has a funky taste that the old ice maker would have. The Brita filters did a great job of filtering out this taste but this filter doesn't. It helps a lot but that taste is still there, just not as strong. Would I buy this filter again? Maybe if our water wasn't so nasty I would but I think I'm going to have to look for a better filter for our situation.
