It is extremely lightweight, folds up into a very thin package but it completely blocks bright sunlight with zero issues! I only need it for occasional use and installed grommets in it to make it quick and easy to hang. Putting the grommets in caused no damage and the material itself has held up perfectly around the grommets while hanging. If I need to take some of this on location, I can carry it easily in a camera bag with how light and thin it is when folded up. Much easier than hauling around a blanket-like material. They worked fine and absorb a lot of light, if you are surrounded by this stuff you wouldn't know if it was day or night. The only negative I have is that the material is a bit thin (not such a bad thing), and the black can come off if exposed to chemicals. In my case a bit of the spray adhesive got on it and the black color came off of the silver base material.
