I've used this humidifier for 4 years now and this is the first time I decided to purchase cheaper filters. It was a huge mistake. A factory filter will last me a whole season, this filter lasted 1 1/2 months. First I noticed my water was starting to look cloudy, that's' never happened before. Within a couple of days I wasn't getting any humidity at all. The humidity dropped to 20% so I turned the fan speed up for a few hours and it didn't help at all. I took the cover off my humidifier and found that the filter was starting to dissolve and turning milky. It was pretty disscusting. It wasn't absorbing any water at all. I put a new filter in since they come in a three pack and within an hour the humidity jumped to 38%. This one will likely start to dissolve soon so I'll have to order a more filters before this season is over, which will be a factory filter.

I am not best pleased - just tried to install a new filter after cleaning my MoistAir humidifier. The circumference of the new filter is smaller than the old one - had to stretch it to fit. When replacing the fan housing over the filter and onto the water tray, the fan hits the top of the filter - I had to press the housing down. So obviously the new filter is also taller than the old one. Can't speak to the efficiency of this filter as I just installed it, but next time I order I will pay the more expensive price to get the real thing!

I have bought other aftermarket filters and they didn't last a week very disappointed. I have used the same one now for a month and a half and still holding up perfect. I highly recommend these for price and quality. I will never pay the astronomical price the factory wants! Update 11-29-19 Still working amazing even when I didn't use distilled water! But it will end the life much faster so I just tried it out and using a new one now with distilled water.

I ordered MAF-1 plain white filters. Looks just like the picture. I thought. What I got is MBK21-PB with some sorta metallic outer screen layer. My first thought was: What-the-Heck? Upon closer inspection of the site after the fact, I see that it IS listed as a comparable substitute for the plain white. And it fits. And it's too much trouble to send back. So, as long as they work, I guess I'll keep 'em. Besides, then I got a notice that they are out of stock now and no telling when they will have more. I also reported the picture of the product as being unclear. You have to really zoom in to tell that, yeah, maybe that is kinda metallic-looking. So, I don't love it, and since I have yet to put one in the machine I don't know if I like yet, but it's OK. So, 3 stars it is.

These filters are working well. I don't really time them to see how many days of use I get, but they fit well, the metal support is useful for holding them up (I've had some that seem to wilt over and then the sensor inside does not work correctly). The filter gets 'gunked' up with the same deposits that every other filter does - as expected. I expect a box of three to last me through the winter months and that is all I really need.

Money I saved buying these inexpensive wicks was lost by the humidifier running overtime because not one of the three wicks absorbed enough water. When placed in the humidifier as a new wick, it absorbed water about halfway up and after about two weeks, the wick became crunchy and absorbed water only at the very bottom. Other filters I have used have lasted months and only had to be replaced because they became moldy. These didn't get moldy because they didn't get wet!

First it has a metal layer then keeps it upright better than others.No one makes this particular size and shape any better, so I will stick with this brand until it changes or my machine dies.Seller shipped in good time and the ones I got arrived in perfect shape.Reccommend!

I tried these instead of paying for the ones from the manufacturer and let’s just say you get what you pay for. They’re slightly shorter then the manufacturer recommended ones and do not even come close to working as well. I’d say it takes at least 30% longer to get to the humidity range I’ve selected.
