This was my first time wearing a saree and it was a huge success. For reference, I'm 5'7, 160lbs. First, this particular saree was delivered as two separate pieces 1) The net for the skirt with additional fabric for the blouse and 2) The solid yellow silk which is draped.This saree requires additional work, it is not ready to wear out of the bag. The fabric for the blouse has to be cut off and someone has to sew it. I took it to a tailor. I also had the tailor stitch the netting to the solid silk so that I had 6ft of continuous fabric to wrap. You have to buy a petticoat to tuck the netting into. I purchased one on Amazon for about $15. It was plain cotton and also had the tailor remove some of the bulk by taking it in at the waist and hips. Just eyeball the closest color match as the netting is forgiving. I also purchased a generic mask liner and had the tailor use the excess fabric to cover it to match the saree. We added rhinestones to the edge of the blouse to add some pizzazz.Thankfully I had the assistance of an Indian friend who wrapped and pinned me up. I received a lot of compliments on it and felt regal.
