This is a small for my 19 lbs Jack Russell terrier. The body part fits great and I love how the straps make it adjustable there and love that there is no velcro. But, the neck part is wayyy too big. You can tighten the strap but the blue part of the neck is not adjustable so if you try to tighten the strap, it just bunches the blue part. Looks stupid. Why was the neck part not made adjustable? Why is a small size have such a large neck? Makes no sense with the sizing. I will be returning.UPDATE: I figured it out and it will actually work so just in case you had the same problem as I did, see the pictures of how to tighten the neck. You have to stuff the blue inside the other side and lift the flap to pull the yellow strap to tighten. I made it as tight as it goes. Not very tight even so but still will do. I will just cut the remaining yellow strap because it is wayyy to long. Overall now, I think it will do. I haven't tried it out yet though.

Fits well, floats great. But after one morning wearing it the leash attachment is showing wear.

The media could not be loaded.  Glad someone suggested this life jacket for my dog! So far, it seems to be high quality, with a nice vibrant color for visibility! My active/strong swimming pup can easily manuover in it and it also aides him when he becomes tired on our long kayak trips. The handles are great for assisting Brewski back on the kayak. Size chart is accurate- Brewski is between 55-60 lbs with a 30 inch chest and the medium fits perfect! Would recommend this product to others!!!

I took the measurements that they recommended and it ended up being a little big on one of my dogs. If your dog is on the border of sizes I would go a size down. It still worked but one of my dogs looked a little goofy.The handle is great. We kayaked with our two dogs for several hours and they would swim and then come back to the kayak and I could lift our smaller dog out of the water with the handle and the bigger one I could use it to help get into the kayak.I believe it helped them swim a lot because my dogs swam for hours with only a few short breaks and I couldn’t get them out of the water.I do wish they had more color options though. Overall, great product and worked great.

I reviewed a lot of dog life vests. I wanted to avoid those with a lot of Velcro which would entrap my dog’s hair. This vest is well constructed. I like the two handles on the back (one vertical and one horizontal) which gives you options to grab and pull your dog out of the water. The underside of the vest consists of foam padding on each side which are secured by 2 straps and buckles. On my dog, the two foam sides don’t meet in the center under her belly, but there’s still plenty of buoyant support. The best part is no Velcro, and it’s easy to put on with the two buckles. There’s a band that goes over the head and supports the front of the neck/chest. It is adjustable too. Check out my pictures to get a better idea of how it works. A good choice for a dog life vest! Finally, I just wanted to add that the highly rated Ruffwear life vest is VERY similar but it's double the price, and it has a very small piece of velcro that is used to secure the underside straps, which could irritate your dog (not likely though). I personally think that the Kurgo is a much better value.

My rottweiler Diamond is 9 months old and we live at the lake, she has swam for many months but NEVER confidently and never jumped in excited by choice, I always had to lure her in with food and she would walk out on her own or dog paddle back to the swim deck if we were on the boat, she never looked happy.NOW SHE LOVES SWIMMING! This vest gave her the largest confidence boost ever, she cannot WAIT to go to the lake and play fetch or just swim for fun/to cool off. I say lake and she wags her little rottweiler stub and bolts for the door, this puts the biggest smile on my face when I see how much she loves it. We visit the lake 2-3 times a week and over the course of 2 months the vest has just began to show signs of minor wear around the stitched edges. I have stopped using the handle, as I'm worried it's going to rip off sooner or later.PROS ---Vibrant ColorWorks outstanding short termHighly AdjustableTrue fit compared to size chartHandles for helping lift dog out of the water (if your on a swim deck of a boat or in a pool)Clasp for leash that seems to hold up (though my dog doesn't pull much on leash)Velcro AND buckle around neck for EXTRA adjustability (which was a life safer in my case)CONS ---Red Nylon fabric begins to pull apart at the seems on the handlesLoops which the bottom two straps go through are spot stitched and not well supported (cheapest part of vest) ripped during first use*** Note these loops are the ONLY thing keeping the straps on the vest and not against your dogs belly/chest which would be uncomfortable! I fixed by restitching and now it's fine.SO,If you have a young dog whom you want to build confidence by using a vest "just for now" then this will do the trick.If however you are looking for a long term (or life time) solution for your pets swimming needs, go spend more money to get the best one you can.

Jack Russel 7-8 kg, small one. Fit good, we cross the 2 strap on belly for better adjustment. She swim good with it. Her head are less in water with it so less water go inside her ears. I recommend it.

I love Kurgo quality! However, the sizing for these life jackets is messed up. I initially purchased the small as my dog is precisely in the middle of the size on the chart. It was so large that I could not adjust it small enough to fit her. So I ordered the extra small. It is quite obviously a different model & it is so small that I can't even do it up on her. I will sadly be returning both.
