desertcart.com: College Caesar: Latin Text with Facing Vocabulary and Commentary: 9780984306572: Steadman, Geoffrey: Books Review: Caesar for Everybody! - This text of selected parts of "Caesar's Gallic Wars" cannot be surpassed if one is a relative beginner in Latin. The vocabulary for the text on each page can be found at the bottom, and explanatory notes are on the opposite page. A list of essential, high-frequency words is included at the beginning of the book. It is presumed that the student will already know this much Latin (a comparatively modest amount). The result is a text that is as accessible as it is rewarding. More advanced Latin students will perhaps find the the text's vocabulary and annotation something of an overkill, but this excellent book opens up the world through Caesar's eyes very effectively. Mueller's text is good, but Steadman's text is excellent and so affordable. Highly recommended, especially for AP Latin. Review: Cesar - This text is obligatory for a well rounded education. The Latin words important for each page are translated.

Great resource for public school Level V Latin
This has been a great resource for me to guide my seniors who are in level five. I love the extras that are available online as well. I recommend this resource highly because my students have greatly benefited from this book and its ease of use.

Caesar sic in omnibus, Pompeus in a hat
Superb!!!!!!!!! Astonishing! nothing like it this side of heaven. Thank God for Caesar and Pompey and Anthony and all of the other psychopaths who carved up the civilized world. Without them we should have nothing to slake our thirst for blood and gore. Caesar adsum iam forte Pompeus ad erat Caesar sic in omnibus Pompeus in a hat The book in question is good value, seriously! As ever excellent service by Amazon. Life would be dull without dear old Amazon.

At first glance, it looks good
Not to imply that upon further inspection it is not, but I haven't had a chance to use this book yet. I do like what I see so far though. Ordered it for some students who are going to be taking the new Vergil/Caesar AP exam and this has a lot of vocab help, mini-grammar lessons in boxes alongside, uses of the ablative case in Caesar, and a frequency word list. So far, so good.

This is an excellent resource for helping you work through Julius Caesar’s De Bello Gallico, well at least those sections of books 1, 4, 5, & 6 that are included. The texts are split up into 52 separate lessons with vocab and grammar help on the same and opposite pages. Helpful historical context is given, as well extremely helpful deep-enough dives into specific grammatical constructions that Caesar uses frequently, and/or trip up the reader frequently. Ideal for the intermediate Latinist and as a refresher for those de-rusting their lingua Latina. This “College” series by Mr. Steadman is an immensely helpful resource. Actually better than his other commentaries, which are also very good, but limited to vocab and textual grammatical assistance. This fills a gap in the market below the more in depth and expensive commentaries for university level, such as Bristol Classical Press’s great books.

Very generous vocab and grammar aid on each page facing the text. Perfect for intermediate self studies.

AS soon as my flux capacitor is fixed I plan on using what I've learned for my next vacation. Actually, my daughter found my Latin Made Simple book interesting and this fleshes out the pursuit significantly...I found it interesting to read for the 'voice of history' aspect.

This is a text which we are using in our U3A Latin group. We wanted something that gave us a continuous story line rather than excerpts from different writers.
