Two Main Issues - Both Can Be Solved
As other reviews have noted, there are 2 significant issues with this collar. Firstly, it does not have a quick release safety catch, which means that if your cat (particularly kittens) catches its lower jaw or teeth, either in the collar itself or (more likely) in the loop that holds the magnet on when cleaning itself, then it may lock its jaw wide open, leading to significant danger and distress (particularly if your cat is outside at the time. My kitten did just that - and lost a tooth, with blood going everywhere. Luckily, it was inside the house at the time - I dread to think what would have happened if it had been outside. I can't understand why the manufacturer doesn't simply fit a quick release catch, but you can make the catch on this collar quick release, by looking at the different shape of the 'prong' section on a quick release collar and gently filing down the arrowhead part of the prongs on this collar to be the same shape as a quick release prong. Do it a bit at a time and keep checking, by pulling the catch apart like a cat would. At first, even with the max strength of a human, it won't budge, but as you change the shape of the arrowhead to be more of a 'blob', it will start to allow you to pull it apart. The second issue is that bells are usually made of ferrous metal, so if you put one on this collar, on the magnet loop, it will be attracted and both the magnet and the bell won't work properly. The answer is to buy a brass bell (non magnetic) and fit it (on a separate metal loop) away from the magnet, held in place by a rubber band, which will stop it sliding along the collar.Once modified, this is a good, cheap collar, particularly when used in conjunction with the matching locking catflap. Personally, I'd like to see it a bit thicker, like other collars, too, but otherwise good.

Use with care
Let's the cat in and out. Then went you need to catch it you can't as it runs off through the cat flap. The one day I removed the collar and when it was medicine time it ran off straight for the cat flap to make an escape only fit it to hit a locked flap and knock itself clean out.All in all it does the job well however a £57 vet bill later Twinkle not has an irrational fear of cat flaps. Be warned!

Expensive and not very reliable
Put on cat and bought the correct cat flap to go with this, my cat had to be positioned to left it in and didn’t always work don’t think the magnet is strong enough and worried about my cat sitting on electrical or mobile devices so have removed collar as no good for for me

excellent quality
good quality collar, as you might expect from PetSafe. And the only cat collar I could find that has a plastic connector for the magnetic element to hang from. in the past have had to remove the metal component off new collars (the magnet sticks to it, obviously! and doesnt hang down rendering poor cats magnetic cat flap useless), and sew small plastic rings from curtain blind -making kits onto the collar to hang the magnetic key from. Only criticism - its black and has no high visibility element which isn't ideal for cats who go outdoors and cross roads.

not strong enough magnet
item attracts everything metal also has to literally touch the panel where as the original collar that came with my catflap will unlock at a distance it doesn't have to touch panel this is clearly down to magnet not being powerful enough also my cats cat litter sticks to it so when my cat walks around shedding cat litter all over I have to remove collar only put it on when they going out or coming in
