Absolute finest rosin flux made in the world & The Nixie Clock!

*by T***B on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2020*

Allow me to introduce myself. I am an emergency room critical care physician, I also wear many other hats. I repair drones as well as training in the hobby of flying Professional drones, not toy drones, I am referring to the $300.00 to $500.00 children type drones! Which thanks to these children "or more accurately" their parents. They are responsible for the soon to be leagaly mandated licensing! Prohibiting the flying of any kind of drone without possessing a license! By the F.A.A. With their violating the 500 foot flight ceiling limit enacted to protect passenger jets & and hundreds of lives (not to mention video recording in the windows of unsuspecting people!) I'm an F.C.C. licensed electronic bench technician and have been for 40 years. I have tried every possible flux on the market in the last four decades. And never have I used one with the properties and excellence of this product as far as what I have read from other people who have reviewed this product this problem of spillage & the stickiness is easily avoidable you only need to purchase this product here is the ASN number, if you do a search on Amazon it'll bring you right to the brand name Gaunt B00EXP082S it is a small I believe two ounce oval (important) bottle cuz round tends to tip over more easily where this one will not it comes with a 25 gauge very fine point needle. So that only one tiny drop will come out at a time as far as removing any spillage it's actually quite simple, use a mixture of 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and paint thinner which can be had at any Home Depot department store. It will remove it from your hands, circuit boards or any application. No matter what you use it on, then wash your hands liberely with soap and hot water! And leave it clean and dry without any issue. I have found that using plastic brushes in the shape of a common tooth brush that have nylon bristles seem to work the best especially on circuit boards, I buy them for $3.99 a pack of four at any Walmart or sporting good store. they are also excellent for cleaning firearms! I do Highly!! recommend using a carbon charcoal ventilation fan to prevent inhaling any of the smoke from this product which I would say about most flux products. Don't buy what's commonly referred to as rubbing alcohol which is 70% which is inadaquet in any drug store you can buy 92% isopropyl alcohol and that is the alcohol you should mix with the paint thinner Walmart has the best price on that alcohol at $5.50 a quart in any case as far as wet ability, I have never used any kind of flux that created wet ability with typical 60/40 rosin core solder. As far as strong joints without cold solder joints I feel it is second to none! Electrical conductivity I have tested myself with a Fluke meter and it also is the best I've found to date. If you don't want any of this flux to ever spill on your workbench, that small plastic bottle that I mentioned earlier simply only fill it half way and if it falls over as it has on me dozens of times, not one drop Will leak out. If you are considering buying this flux trust me you'll never by any other brand. best wishes Dr. Thomas Contartesi F.A.C.C.P.S. I have no affiliation with the mg company nor have I been offered the test this product as some people are by Amazon.** the two photos are my latest work they are what's called a Nixie clock the tubes are manufactured in Russia in 1950 they operate on 170 volts a really cool and unbelievably accurate time piece they seem to be catching on in popularity within electronic circles, by no means would I recommend this kit for a beginner!! They keep time via GPS satellite and the LED's under each tube which is an RGB type can produce 256 different shades of color I've never seen a more accurate clock I checked it against my cell phone and it hasn't lost 15 seconds in a year it was fun building it but for those who might like one since they're kind of retro but yet modern this was the technology used by the whole world not just Russia and they were not the only ones that made these tubes they're very expensive but this was the predecessor of the LED this is what we used on all electronic equipment requiring alphanumerics. When the LED came out it was cheaper to manufacture and it seemed Russia had millions of these tubes in warehouses and not just Russia England Japan France and they're being bought up so fast you wouldn't believe it!! Mostly by companies selling kit's or assembled units, anyone that comes in my home the first thing they want to ask me when they see this Nixie clock is what the heck is that LOL.

    Great flux. Horrible cap.

*by M***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2018*

I just got this yesterday after it took a while in transit. The flux is very thin, which is in contrast to what I had been using. I put some into a nail polish bottle that I have for exactly this application, and it worked perfectly to apply.First I used it to tin the brass contact on one side, and then I added a bit to tin the copper braid I was attaching. These went together fine with another small addition of the flux. I ended up having to resolder it to correct its position, and again, the flux performed beautifully. My experience with Rosin flux is that it generally doesn't work as well as acid flux, but this was probably the best rosin flux I have ever tried. Here's my negative - The cap on this was probably the SINGLE MOST ADULT-PROOF cap I have ever encountered. I swear it took me 10 minutes to get the bottle open. It took a lot less time to make it into a non-adult-proof cap. :-)

MG Chemicals Liquid Rosin Flux, Non Corrosive and Non Conductive residue, 125 ml Bottle

*by C***V on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2017*

This is the first time I use liquid flux and I always wanted to try it out, but was afraid it was too liquid since my purpose is for SMD re-flow, well it works well so far.The liquid is real sticky if you happen to get some on your hands or working area where you didn’t intent to use it, I spilled some around the needle tip bottle and had to wash it with soap in hot water to get rid of the stickiness. The good:The reason I got this version of flux is because it reads “for leaded and lead free solder” so I ran few test with both leaded and lead free solder and it works very nice with bothThe bad, but no so bad:It burns easily even using low temperature solder and iron at 210 C leaving a light brown residue, when used with lead free solder at 330 C it burns and smokes a lot leaving a brown residue.BTW: the dark brown residue is natural for this kind of flux and is because of the material (COLOPHANE) is made out of and I knew it will be brown so no complain here.Cleaning:On both leaded and lead free solder test I was able to clean surface with 99% alcohol without a problem, I even test leaving some on the test board overnight and I was able to clean it without any effort. If you'll be using this flux on high temperature I'll recommend good ventilation.
