Doesn't give 500MB/s read and write
I replaced an HDD for this SDD on a 12 year old PC and even though it runs fast as expected coming from a SSD. The speed coming from Crystal Disk Mark 6 says both read and write is 260Mb/s.Otherwise this SSD is great for how cheap it is but it would be nice it was 500Mb/s instead of 260Mb/s

fast
as expected, good quality.

Petit prix, petites prestations.

Failed after 6 weeks
I purchased this for my main desktop but it failed after just 6 weeks. Initially everything was fine and I migrated from a SATA HDD using cloning software, my entire operating system. However in the last few days I started getting various file errors and assumed it might be a virus or some other such issue. Then after doing a check disk I discovered a number of errors on the drive which Windows could not repair.I reported the issue to the seller but their policy is I return the disk and then after 3 to 5 days if they find a fault they will send out a new disk drive. My issue with this is it means doing without my PC for 5 days and I will need to format the drive to remove any sensitive data. Alternatively I can buy a temporary HDD, copy windows over and use the PC whilst waiting for the new drive. But the main problem is I would get the same make and model drive back and it too may have similar issues. I have decided to buy a different make and model of SSD and then return this one asking for my money back. Some people have been successful with this drive but not me so I would not recommend it.

PNY CS900 960GB - A Slow SSD - Worth it when it's cheaper than everything else!
One-line review This is one of the slowest SSDs on the market, good as a game/secondary drive. Buy something else unless this is a lot cheaper.PNY CS900 960GB - Paid £68.99 when on offer + gift card promotional credit (£5 for £50). The next cheapest SSD at the time was the Adata Ultimate SU650 for £80 and the Crucial P1 1TB (QLC) for ~£70 for a short period. There's not a whole lot online about this SSD. One thing of concern is that there are a number of reviews saying that it has died on them, not after long. I'll update this if mine does stop working.Looks A plastic case with a slightly misaligned sticker on top which looks better in pictures.Specs Firmware CS900KA3 (No updates available from PNY) Windows lists it as 894.25 GB (I have kept another 80 GB unallocated to help with life span and speed) 3 year warranty upon registration, otherwise your standard 1 year warranty Mean time between failures (MTBF) 2,000,000 hours or 228 years 3D TLC but no mention anywhere of the Terabytes Written (TBW) Features S.M.A.R.T, NCQ, TRIM -- No AES/drive encryption as far as I can seeSetup Processor - AMD Ryzen 5 1600 @ Stock Motherboard - Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 Memory - Corsair LPX 16GB(2x8) 3000MHzConclusion There are better SSDs for the price unless you get it on offer. Currently, the SSD is back at £100. I'd recommend it if it's significantly cheaper than other drives, and like me don't want a QLC drive. But this SSD drive is probably the slowest you can get by far, I'd recommend searching for benchmarks on other SSDs and comparing them to my scores to see what I mean (scores other than sequential).

SSD that does the job but would not buy again, no OEM cloning software licence
Bought this to upgrade a 2017 laptop to give it another couple of years of life. It was as seamless transition by the end, but getting there was slightly annoying, hence the star rating. I've done several HDD to SSD swaps for friends, family and colleagues. I've used a variety of differently branded drives depending on budget. Every other drive I've used so far has come with an OEM licence for some cloning software to make the transition easy. I googled for this brand, 'PNY' and 'OEM cloning software' and you get taken the manufacturers page where they ask you to choose your drive, so you select the drive you're buying here and it gives you the OEM download for the software. HOWEVER, despite these very misleading appearances this drive does not come with a licence for the software. This is highly unusual in my experience. In fairness the listing on Amazon doesn't explicitly say comes with a licence so it's my own fault for not doing enough due-diligence. Considering that the drive was no cheaper than the alternative quality brands which DO comes with the OEM licences I would not buy this brand again and would chose one with cloning software licence instead. The speeds are fine, and upgrading from a HDD to an SSD is well worth it as the stats show in my picture.
