Reliable Transformer- Great for Ring Pro
This is a good transformer. It comes in a brown NuTone box and has a one year warranty. There is a small instruction guide for installations (1 bell, 2 bells, etc.). The transformer wires are in a threaded cylinder shaftess than 1โ long. You insert this into a punch out on your juction box so you have no exposed wires. You then connect the common, load and ground (white, black, and green) to the corresponding wires in your junction box. If you are replacing a transformer you may first need to find the transformer unless it is by your panel. They tend to be in a straight lime from your doorbell (straigh line, shortest distance between points and all), so look in the attic, crawlspace, or basement in a straight line into the house from the doorbell, and near another power source like an outlet. Mine is in my crawlspace. You may find, as I did, that my ancient transformer was over-tightened onto the junction box. I ended up pulling off the box (POWER OFF! Or at least wires capped of you are a pro). This allowed me to turn the transformer unit and easily unscrew it. My only installation issue: this unit was slightly deeper than my junction box, and once I inserted it into the punch out hole it rested on the joist before the junction box. I just added some wood behind the junction box so both transformer and box are secure/nailed in to the joist. Installation itself is like 5-10 minutes. I spent more time finding my transformer and fussing with the old oneโs โfrozenโ mount than I did the install. This one works great. Its 16v-30a. If you have a Ring Pro, you need this. Donโt get a 16v-10a or anything less than 16v-30a. If you have a long run to the doorbell (more than 60 feet from the transformer) use a 24v-40a with a Ring. I tried to get away with my old transformer for my Ring Pro and I did for a while then it died. Even before it died sometimes it would not fully ring my mechanical chime or drop WiFi connection with a low voltage message.

Fixed my Ring Pro doorbell issue!
I was skeptical about buying a new Transformerfor my Ring Pro door bell when the one I had worked just fine for my mechanical doorbell before putting my Ring doorbell. My issue was the Ring door bell would only ring about half way or would not ring at on on our chimes but would make a sound in the app. I switched from a mechanical chime to a digital chime figuring that would take less power to make a full chime. But still had the same issue (half or no chime at all). Customer service told me the voltage was a bit low on my transformer and at night when I wanted my video doorbell to work most it would lose power and stay offline all night. So, the first thing I did was buy this transformer and install it. The amperage was showing higher in the app (not much but some) and it stopped dropping off line at time. It also started to work better but still sometimes only part of a chime and not the full thing. Another call to customer support and they adjusted the duration of how long the voltage is sent to the chime in our hallway. Well, that finally fixed it. So my fix was two part. I needed this new transformer to keep my Ring from dropping off line at night and Ring Customer service to adjust the duration of how long the power signal is sent to our chime. There is still about a two or three second lag from the time I push the Ring Door bell until the chime in the hallway starts to chime. That bugs me so I got a "Ring Doorbell Chime" and pluged it into the spar bedroom outlet. Now when you push the front doorbell the Ring Chime makes its tones and just as it is ending the hard wired chime in our hallway starts to chime. Still kind of bugs me but at least i hear something right away and the door bell is staying online 24 hours. Easy to replace and worked great!

Excellent Quality
TLDR; Good quality transformer for wired doorbell camera and address light. Slightly larger Much better heat management. Barely warm compared to the too hot to touch cheaper one I got prior to this upgrade. Has a safety feature that shuts off if there is a fire hazard. Spend the money on this for peace of mind. Details: Unit itself is quality. It is made in china to Broan Nutone specs which is a US company. You would be hard pressed to find anything made in the US now This works with blink doorbell camera and to power my address light. Has sufficient juice and does not overheat. My old one which came with a house built in 2000 was a 16v 10va. It could not provide sufficient power to support a ring, blink, nest, arlo, eufy, Wyze doorbell camera. Bought a cheap unknown brand replacement with 16v 30va specifications but it got too hot to the touch. Normal to be hot. Some say 100 degrees is normal. Some say up to 120 degrees is normal operating temp. I can tell you it got way too hot and I was not comfortable sticking with it. Winded up paying double the price for this Broan Nutone unit and it is a significant improvement. No longer hot. Barely even warm. Size is bigger and I imagine itโs a better heat sink. So I guess size does matter. Minor notes Box came damaged and fins bent. Didnโt have to use them but bent them back using pliers for aesthetics.

Works great; Compatible with Ring Doorbell.
While troubleshooting a Ring Doorbell (5th gen) I selected this product to provide more available current to the Ring Doorbell because Ring would not trigger my mechanical doorbell. This product did not resolve that problem. I do not believe the original transformer was at fault, either. Without the Ring doorbell, this product will work fine with your mechanical doorbell.

Buyer beware of fake knock-off transformers
I've ordered several of these over the years but I do not believe this latest one is a genuine Nutone C907. There are no markings anywhere on the housing indicating it's made by Nutone. A few other bits of evidence that this is a cheap Chinese knock-off: 1.) The face of the transformer where the terminals are does not indicate it's "thermally protected" like the prior ones did. 2.) The stem/nut is nylon and not metal likes prior ones. 3.) The UL listing number does not match up with Nutone. 4.) As mentioned, the metal housing does not have any marking stamped/embossed into it that indicate it's a Nutone product. It looks exactly like the Newhouse 30TR I had ordered and returned. Buyer beware. Sending back.

Figured it was a bad transformer so went to Home Depot and picked up ...
For All Ring Pro Doorbell users: This is a MUST for older homes w/ mechanical doorbell Background, I installed the Ring pro and encountered many issues right off the bat. Sometimes there would be no power to the button at all. Sometimes the button would work and the mechanical bell would ring right after but nothing was being sent to my phone. Sometimes the ring would work and send notifications but my mechanical doorbell wouldn't ding. I thought it was my old transformer at first. It was a 16V / 10VA transformer (which is what is recommended) and yet I was getting OK in the health check for voltage. Figured it was a bad transformer so went to Home Depot and picked up a brand new 16V / 10A transformer. Once I took it home and installed it, I got very good for the health check so I thought it was just a bad transformer. NOPE. While the ring now was a bit more stable (it still would lose power 10% of the time) the mechanical bell still only rung like 25% of the time. After poking through forums, I discovered that the 10VA a regular 16v transformer puts out is NOT ENOUGH to give enough power to both a mechanical doorbell AND activate your ring / send notice to your phone. So i went ahead and ordered this guy and replaced it. Needless to say, that was the solution. When i press the ring now, it will ring, send a notification, and chime my mechanical bell almost instantly, without any more issues. haven't had any issues so far - everything seems to work perfectly now. Wish the people of RING knew about this... instead they don't say anything in hopes that you buy a Ring Chime when your mechanical doorbell doesnt work.

Good Product
I have three chimes in my home and when they installed it they had only used the original 10 A transformer and the chimes had never worked correctly. Replacing the transformed completely solved all the problems.

Extra wattage for Video Doorbell - works great
Bought this to support Ring Video Doorbell Pro. Works very well - ample power supplied to keep the doorbell happy (4000 mV reported in Device Health), as well as to power the existing mechanical doorbell when needed. No audible hum from the transformer, a bit heavier than the 16v 10 vA unit I replaced.

In a few weeks the power output dropped with Ring Doorbell Pro - the doorbell keeps crashing.
The output power under load, i.e. ringing, drops so that the system crashes and need to reboot after every ring. This is a wired system with a mechanical chime. The transformer is being returned.
