Confused..
Love quality of item. Instructions a breeze but.., illumination showing air quality does not work - cannot get through to product support on neither chat nor call. Registered for lifetime guarantee and website said ‘join us and get first replacement filter half price with 10% off subsequent ones. No option to create a password - seems like Canada and USA only. Unit in sleep mode is LOUD! Decibels in product description are foreign to me.

Don't buy if in UK replacement filters not available
Excellent machine, clears the air quickly and provides a powerful stream of clean air .... however you will get 6 months optimum use with the filter. Once that's done the machine is rendered useless as replacement filters are hard to come by. Have ordered non genuine spares and they both cancelled the order. Really annoying and to be honest if you can't provide the through life consumables then you should not provide the machine. Poor ethics.

Outstanding Air Quality!
For perspective; I live in SE London, on the 5th floor in an area surrounded by blocks of flats and new builds, whilst locally there is almost Always some road works or a building being torn down somewhere as London is continually gentrifying, rebuilding or repairing. The borough of Greenwich is considered to be OK with air pollution, but since I don't know how thorough they test or how that affects me as an individual living in the first 3 zones of a major city, I will go ahead and assume this money guzzling city's requirements don't favour us individuals who care about our health. The local area sees traffic literally everyday of the week and you can hear obnoxious car drivers honking their horns like 6 year olds with a tantrum Every single Day - Rant aside, this particular block i live in is a sturdy cement-block of a building that has seen more repairs and alterations than a truck full of Barbies after a road accident! And very recently they have replaced the fire safety, lights and buzzer systems (lots of drilling causing dust and microparticles in and around the building). Personally, within our household, we have daily smokers of both tobacco and the Greenthumb variety, as well as a very pompous Cat who likes to malt everywhere she goes, whatever time of the year it is! The place is well overdue a redecoration as it has not been decorated in the last decade and in-terms of food, we do cook regularly here.So now you have an idea of what the air pollution may be like here (open windows or not). This machine is outstanding (and not my first air purifier). I have a Levoit brand, but after watching some reviews I was disappointed by its results and it helped me understand that I was asking way too much of the little thing. THIS however is Outstanding! I have a standard (double bed) room that comfortably fits an L-Shaped sofa-bed, Ikea bookshelf, desk and (4-tier) chest of drawers and a square rolling cabinet I keep my TV on. I keep fabrics to a minimum as they harbour dust but it is unavoidable really. This Air Purifier Cleans out the Air of the entire room in less than an hour on the high setting. Otherwise I can stick it on the snooze setting and leave it on quietly until I decide to turn it off the next morning when I wake up. I'm not going to reiterate the information the seller has already provided - I will tell you that I find this product INVALUABLE. Guests come to my house and tell me it smells SPA FRESH (without the overpowering smell of essential oils - we have diffusers if we want that). I can Confidently say i get FRESH AIR, from INSIDE my flat! Also, If you do Yoga and/or meditation you understand the importance of breathing - AIR quality is of the same importance as Water Quality. The previous (smaller) Air Purifier I got was a good lesson on the importance of fresh air, but this MEDIFY AIR appliance Really drives the message home and gets the job done efficiently - Pay attention to the space you have (SQ-M) and the CADR rating of the appliance, as these are the two important variables when making a purchase decision (besides the HEPA filter). The video I have provided hopefully allows you to have a Basic understanding of how loud it is/isn't, and I promise it Doesn't annoy unless you are Extremely sound sensitive and live in a soundproof box. Thanks for reading and I hope I this helps with any decisions you are taking into consideration.

The Medify Air purifier. An overview, positives and negatives.
As someone with lifelong asthma and eczema I've often thought about getting an air purifier, but never pulled the trigger until now. The Medify Air is from a small LA based family company (created by a woman) and comes packed securely in quality branded boxing with protective Styrofoam. The air purifier measures 26.67 x 27.94 x 66.04 cm; and weighs in at 6.8 Kilograms. You'll need 10 inches behind and in front (and indeed all around) for this to work, you can't place it directly against a wall. When it comes to the machine itself the positives far outweigh the negatives, but here are both.POSITIVES:This is easy to use straight out of the box by following the thin instruction booklet. Just plug the Medify Air into an outlet and the machine will beep to show you that it is on. The touch top is very well designed using the same glass that your mobile phone uses, rather than cheap plastic. Press the on button and it will light up white. Select your chosen speed from 1 to 3 or sleep (which is quieter) and either leave it on or choose a timer option (1, 2, 4 or 8 hours), the higher the speed the more noise the machine makes, but even on the highest setting it's no worse than a cooling fan, on a low setting. There is a child lock (which activates by holding in this button) and an Ionizer button (for level 4 advance cleaning), this can be turned on or off. The first time I used this I had it on speed 1 for an hour and this may sound like hyperbole (it could be a placebo) but leaving the bedroom and re-entering it, the air generally did feel fresher and easier to breathe. In terms of ease of use and build quality, the Medify Air is first rate. It can be stored away in the corner or a cupboard when not in use. It doesn't feel overwhelmingly big, just the right size. It's best to wipe it down with a dry cloth or a slightly damp one, Don't wash it aggressively or ever wash the filter. How do you change the filter? Unclip the back panel, and replace it, it's as simple as that!WARNING!!!You must remove the enclosed plastic bag before use the FIRST TIME. You need to unclip the black back on the purifier (simple) and take the bag off the filter. Push the filter back in and re-insert the back.THE FOUR STAGES OF CLEANING:1 Pre-filter (large particles, dust, dander, hair and others.)2 HEPA H13 removes 99.9% of particles down to 0.1 microns as well as PM2.5 particles (smoke, pollen, dust mites etc.)3 Absorbs odors, harmful VOC's and toxic substances such as formaldehydes.4 Ionizer. Produces negative ions to neutralize positively charged particles such as dust, bacteria, mold spores, pollen, animal dander and other airborne positive particles.NEGATIVES:The filter supposedly lasts 6 months (which is great) or 3,000 hours? But does it? Because I've also read it only lasts 1,500 hours and 2,500 hours? Which is it? At 3,000 hours, if you only run this thing for a couple of hours every day, you'll get almost four years out of this! But does it have to be changed after six months anyway? This is unclear. A light comes on when the filter needs changing so how long it actually lasts will be interesting. The instruction booklet needs more information about cleaning and room size. This isn't covered at all so unless you visit their website / Amazon, it is guess work. For the record, it says it will clean a room up to 78 sq m in 30 minutes and 160 sq m in one hour (Amazon.) There isn't enough information about how this actually works. If I set this for an hour, does it go through all four stages (see the four stages of cleaning) separately or together? Does it need longer to reach all of the stages? I'm guessing it does them all simultaneously. This comes down to a BETTER instruction booklet. The only other negative is how hard it is to get hold of replacement filters. Remember, this is an American company! And (at the time of writing) the filters are out of stock on Amazon UK. They are also only available from America on e-bay, and a visit to Medify Air's website, shows that (of course) it is based in America! So, I will keep searching but so far I haven't been able to find replacement filters. The company needs to do better in making sure these are available all year around (on Amazon!)It would be better if the Medify had a colour coded cleaning system like you find on some brands. This system will show blue as good air quality, yellow as medium and red as poor. The machine will then go through the cleaning stages until it reaches blue. As it is, there is no way of knowing how clean the air is with the Medify air purifier. No way of knowing when it's really done! You can sense that the air feels cleaner, because of a change in the room. It feels easier to breathe, but a colour coded system would be nice.IN CONCLUSION:I really like this Air Purifier, it is well made (and well built), with a welcome glass, touch screen top (don't worry, the top is solid and won't shatter! It's not that type of glass.) The machine is fairly quiet on the lowest settings (including sleep) and it genuinely does seem to improve air quality. The timer options and child lock are great and the front branding (to the purifier) isn't intrusive and looks the part. I hope the company will improve upon their thin instruction booklet, to explain the four stages better. Overall, this comes recommended (with minor worries about replacement filter availability.)

Air Purifier
The Medify Air Purifier overall is a great product. It has a range of settings to fit the circumstances of the room for example if you are sleeping it has a quiet mode. There are 3 speed modes ( low, medium and high). The high mode is a little noisy but you get used to it. It's similar to the noise of a fan.The ionizer mode is made for things such as dust, bacteria, mild spores, pollen and animal dander which can be turned on or off. You can set timers (1, 2, 4, 8 hours including continuous) and there is also a child lock which when activated locks the whole control panel. The glass control panel is prone to finger print marks but is easy to clean (I use a glass cleaner). The purifier is quite pricey at £229.99 and I'm not sure I would pay that. The filter lasts approximately 200 days if you had it on for 12 hours a day. A replacement filter is around £50 so again, quite pricey. It has a life time warranty. My husband suffers badly with hay fever and I suffer with allergies so am hoping to see a big improvement in these issues and will update my review accordingly.
