Before mopping you have to wet the mop with clean water in WASH part at first, after mopping normally the mop turns to be dirty and then needs to go to the WASH part again to be rinsed. So after rinsing the water in the WASH is not "clean" anymore. The DRY part is only for you to squeeze extra water after washing the wet mop. Overall, when it is a clean mop the clean water flows from DRY slot into the clean WASH reservoir, contrarily when the mop is used or dirty, it will be the dirty water flowing into dirty water.
