* This glass slipper appears to made of molded glass. I ran my finger all over it, and inspected it closely (illuminated with a small flashlight). Smooth and well-polished all over. Free of major imperfections: no chips, no scratches, no sharp edges, no rough spots. Only a few minor imperfections (small bubbles, small bumps, and minor seam remnants) when I really hunted for them. For the price (~$26 with free shipping) and its intended purpose (this is a decoration or ornament, not a piece of jewelry or art glass), the production quality is good.* The color is a pale pink hue. This is fine with me: I just want some color to make it more visible and noticeable than clear glass. But if you’re looking for a vibrant pink, you’ll be disappointed.* The dimensions are listed as nominally 5.1” L X 4.3” H X 2.4” W. I checked with both a ruler and a digital caliper: 129 mm (5.1”) L X 113 mm (4.5”) H X 64 mm (2.5”) W. Given the irregular shape, well within the range of the nominal dimensions.* Weight is listed as about 1 lb. I checked on a precision digital scale: 394.6 g/13.92 oz/0.870 lb. So, slightly under a pound. The weight is distributed towards the bottom sole: the glass slipper sits stably on a flat surface.* The glass slipper comes wrapped with thin bubble wrap and is packed in a rectangular cardboard box (suitable as a gift box).* Aesthetically, the glass slipper looks nice. Well-proportioned: not too clunky, but also not too fragile. Not super plain; bow on the top front of toe is a nice touch. Not super gaudy, either. I usually avoid buying such gifts online, because it’s hard to tell from photos alone what I’m getting; however, I also wanted to avoid hunting in person through gift shops this year. But this glass slipper will make a happy ending for my Cinderella.

Beautiful centerpiece for Cinderella theme birthday party

This glass slipper is so cute. It’d go perfect in a little girls room. I got it for a more unique purpose. I’m working for a non-profit ministry that my daughter & her husband started. Every year they have a fundraising princess tea party that’s only become more & more popular. Trying to incorporate more designs & originality to make it special, this glass slipper caught my eye.I’m not exactly sure how we’ll use it. It’s 5” long x 4½” tall so it’s small enough to be centered on a tiered cake. It’s solid clear pink glass so would probably require extra support. It can be set on a table with a floral arrangement spilling out of it for another use. Or the shoe could be filled with mints or other candies.It would be a cute décor piece for a wedding or baby shower or birthday party.We have a few more months before we have to get going on the details for the next tea party so I’m sure I’ll come up with other ideas that I’ll run past the planning committee. I think it’ll make the party very special to include something like this in the display.
